I walked -more like ran- down the hall, my hand in Jackson's. He was pulling me somewhere, and I was clueless. When he came to a sudden stop, he turned to me, and a piece of my purple hair fell in my face. He brushed the piece of violet hair behind my ear while I was looking down. Or, I was until I felt his hand under my chin, lifting my face to his. Every blood cell migrated to my face, and I looked away shyly.
"You okay, V? You haven't been acting like yourself." His voice was laced with concern, and it made my heart melt.
"I-it's nothing..."
His nose pressed against mine, his dark blue orbs looking deep into my brown orbs.
"It doesn't seem like nothing." He said, concern lacing his voice. I wanted to melt right then and there into his arms and have him never let go of me.
The only reason I've been acting different was because I found a girl with the sign of Aries imprinted into her skin. It made me happy that there was an entire group of us, the twelve zodiac, and several were located in this town. It felt good to know that all of us existed and that we may find a way to reunite.
In a different life, we once knew each other like family, for we were the closest thing there was as we knew it. Being the outsiders looking in, we never knew how to socialize with people other than the other Zodiac. I don't know how I remember all of this, but Liz had jogged something in my head, something that made me know why we were imprinted with these signs on our wrists. I had always thought it was a curse, but it never was. It was my true self.
I smiled at Jackson.
"I'm fine, just remembering something." I said with a smile.
"What are you remembering?"
"Something stupid from my childhood." I wasn't lying, not entirely at least.
"What was that something stupid?"
I smiled and looked at the floor.
"It was when an old friend had really screwed up and didn't read a book they were supposed to read for class, and ended up failing the test they had to take on the book." I say, giggling at the memory. It was true, my mind had wandered to that memory earlier, and it made me wonder how I had passed that test.
Jackson smiled.
"Do you remember that I was that old friend?" He asked teasingly.
Before I could answer, the bell rang, interrupting our conversation.
"Damnit..." I heard Jackson mumble.

"THERE'S NO CINNAMON ROLLS!?!?" Lys exclaimed, opening my fridge.
"Look I ran out this morning and I haven't had time to get more, okay. I'm suffering, too." I say to her while Red and Liz watch us fight.
"At least there's still chicken nuggets..." Lys said while pouting and munching on the pieces of chicken from heaven.
"So you guys do this every weekend?" Liz asks, turning to Red.
"Yeah, but we always stay here. V's parents are never home and she doesn't have any siblings." She explained, drinking her soda.
"Wait. If this is a sleepover, then why is he here?" Lys said, pointing to the male who was cuddling with me.
"I invited him, does it really matter?" I say, feeling his warmth radiate onto my own.
"Yes it matters, we are girls and we are going to be sleeping in the same proximi-" Lys is cut of by the pillow Red throws at her.
"Damnit Lys, shut up. It's not like they're going to-" it was my turn to throw a pillow at someone face.
"S-shut up..." I say while burying my burning face into Jackson's chest.
"HOLY PISS OF SHIT MOUNTAIN!!! MY FAVORITE MOVIE IS ON!!!!!" Lys yelled as she saw the only movie she liked pop onto my flatscreen TV.
There was screaming and blood during the movie, and while we munched on popcorn, something went off in my head.
It was funny kind of, how Liz could melt into our small group so easily. We were the group of people that nobody knew how to approach; to speak with, or even just socialize. We were those strange people who were always watching from the outside, the people who never fit in.
My eyelids became heavy, and the warmth of Jackson was lulling me to sleep.
And that's when I heard the lightning.
