The girls had left me in Violet's room. It's not like I haven't been alone in her room before, it's happened many times, but now, it felt strange. Me having spent last night under the bed with Violet during that storm, it made my thoughts about a ton of things change. Take for example, that mark on Violet. She told me it was a tattoo, a real one, when we had first met, but even then I could see the fear in her eyes when I had brought it up.
I was the first to talk to her in seventh grade, and she knew nobody because she was from a different town. My friends saw her from a distance, and dared me to talk to her because she had strange hair like I did. I, of course, took the dare and spoke to her. When I had reached her desk, she had her head inside of a book. 'Nerd...' I thought to myself as I opened my mouth to speak. When I did speak, she looked at me with cold eyes, and I knew that the chick would be someone you didn't want to mess around with.
We became close through many things, including a few detentions, and eventually, I got the guts to ask her out. In eighth grade, I noticed the mark on the base of her middle finger. It was the sign of the Gemini, the twins, and I had confronted her about it, only to be told it was a tattoo. I decided not to pry, and let it be.
But now... There's something strange about Liz. Her aura is strange, stronger than those of the other girls in the group. Liz was kind, but something was off about her. My train of thought crashed when I heard giggles and snickers.
"She's going to be pissed." I heard Liz say, giggling.
"So is he." That was Red.
"Okay and?" Liz replied.
The girls conversation was interrupted by Violets yells.
"ELIZIBETH, ALYSIA, AND SAM GET YOUR ASSES DOWN HERE RIGHT FRICKIN' NOW!!!!"
Damn, Violet must've been really pissed if she called everyone by their real names.
I walked down the stairs with everyone else to see what Violets was freaking out about.
"What the hell is this!?" Violet showed them her phone, which had a page open on Snapchat. "Don't think I believe this is the only one, I went through all your other social media posts, and they all show this picture!"
The picture on the phone was one of me and her cuddling under the bed last night. I felt my face burn a million shades of red while Violet began to go off on the three girls.
*~*~*~*
"Damn... I didn't know Violet could talk for so long..." Liz said, eyes wider than dinner plates.
"You should hear her when she's in a good mood." I say, smirking.
"She can be in a good mood!?"
"Oh yeah, it's happened a million times before." Lys said smirking.
"That's insane..."
"Not really, like we said when you first came here, she's really nice once you get to know her."
It made me smile when they spoke about the true side of Violet. She was a kind girl, but she was just scared of being hurt, and she pushed so many different people away due to that fear. My phone buzzed and I checked it. It was a text from DJ.
'What the hell are you doing wth Violet? Did you two hook up?'
My eyes widened as I read the text, and I began to text furiously.
'What the hell is wrong with you? Violet isn't like that, you of all people should know' I sent the message and added, 'You ever gonna ask Liz out?'
He sent three dots back before texting me back.
'Shut up.'
I laughed and pocketed my phone, until I was hit with an idea.
