I listened for the soft buzz of my phone.
"Do you hear it?" Asked Violet
"Hold on" I said diving under my bed " Ah ha! I got it!"
I quickly unlocked my phone and checked the whole 17 messages in my texts astonishing I know. My inbox was full with texts from the not so normal people who text me, mostly from my friends ember and lilac from my old school updating me on our favorite book, The Angelic Secret, but there was one text that caught my eye, not from ember or lilac or even lys no it was from DJ.
Hey Liz, I was wondering if you were going to the carnival this weekend. Mabey we could hang out then. I mean if you want to we don't have to but I thought I would ask.
I didn't know what to think ever since our first encounter I hadn't really thought of him. I didn't even know Palacios had a carnival
I would love to, let's meet by the Farris wheel.
"Hey Liz, we are going to be late for the movie!" I heard Violet call
"What!?"
" Remember we are going to see Ghost in a shell?"
"Oh yeah, I'm coming I said throwing my phone in my Boston terrier purse. I jumped into the back of Jackson's car with Lys and Red and got comfy since it was an hour to the closest movie theater which is in Victoria. This was going to be an awesome night!
