What we find in a soul mate is not something wild to tame but something wild to run with. -Robert Brualt

The pack house was in a frenzy.

Girls running around with last minute preperations, for the ball was only 3 hours away.

Yet here I was, sitting quietly on my bed facing the open door, and watching people run by in a rush.

Last night was the worst yet, even though I got the last few hours in a peaceful sleep.

But nonetheless I felt as though I hadn't slept a wink and instead had been screaming and running.

I shook in rememberance of his last words.

Goodnight, my love.

I didn't get time to dwell on the words much longer as Eve burst into my room.

"Help!" she gasped as she flew in holding her nude Heels up to me. "its scuffed! im freaking out! All Diana wanted to do was try them on but she tripped over my pride and prejudice book and biffed it!"

I stopped her before she could start again by taking the heels and walking over to my nightstand.

"Its just a scuff." I teased.

"B-But the paint- its off-" she said half out of breath.

I held up a bottle of nail polish the same nude color as her heels.

"Is it the same?" she asked, walking over and shaking it.

"If not, its really close and nobody will even see your heels hun." I laughed, and she nodded along quickly.

I painted over the quarter sized scuff, "it'll dry with plenty of time to spare." I reassured her.

"Right." she said confidently. "disaster averted."

I laughed but it was halfhearted.

"what's wrong?" she asked suddenly.

"no- "

"what?" she demanded.

"Nothing," I laughed lightly. "I just haven't been able to sleep." I muttered, knowing full well she wouldn't leave it alone.

"Why not?" she asked, sitting on my bed and I plopped down next to her.

"Nightmares." I whispered.

She stayed quiet.

"Its aweful." I told her everything about the nightmares, everything.

And she listened for an hour while I told her all of it.

She nodded and tryed to comfort me.

But she was more worried about what they meant, and the last words.

Goodnight, my love.

"I would know the voice if I heard it. And I never ever want to." I sighed.

"never". I sighed.

"Well, I think maybe your just nervous about meeting your mate"... She looked down at her hands that fiddled with one of mine.

I knew she didn't even convince herself. Nightmares, were things of legends and bad fortune for wolves.

I didn't even know what to think about it.
I didn't want to tell my dad, and my mom won't be home till the opening ceremony.

"You think maybe we could focus on the ball?" Get my mind off it?" I smiled a small smile.

"yeah!" she nodded frantically, "Is my dress still in your closet?" she stood, taking my hand as we walked over to the walk-in.
