Home, But Home-sick

If he really loved me he wasn't doing it right. In fact, if this was the case, he was doing everything wrong.

He had succeeded in hurting me even more, because now, now we had felt what all other wolves felt when laying eyes on their mates.

But I had left, what he had done, has done and will continue to do is not something I can be OK with.

We were on foot heading 3 states away to Montanna, So it might be a while, seeing as we traveled mostly at night.

I didn't want to shift as we traveled. Because finally, and thankfully, my wolf had managed to pull everything to the back of my mind and everything felt as good as it ever did.

On the second day were were only a few miles from Montanna and only had to reach about the middle, and that's where we would rest one more night.

And just as we happily reached the border we found a car on the side of the road, which Liam hot-wired.

He had gained back his strength, which to be honest he hadn't lost much.

"No way!" He smiled looking at me with a hypnotizing smile.

His teeth had remained white, he said he had only been there a month or so and since they hadn't fed him there wasn't much to ruin teeth.

We had broken into a motel room and showered, a much needed shower for him, he stunk, which I had teasingly reminded him.

"Yes way!" I laughed rolling my eyes, "Its the only pack in Montanna, where'd you think we were going?" I laughed.

He shook his head, "I guess I didn't think about it that hard." He flicked some dirty blonde hair out of his eyes.

He looked like the type of hot guy you see humans drooling over at the beach, surfer, not to long wavy hair and a nice body to top it off.

I just shook my head at him.

"So your conners daughter?" he asked again and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Yes for the millionth time". I teased, my voice laced with sarcasm.

This time it was his turn to shake his head at me.

"I can't wait." he smiled a half smile at me, lifting only one corner of his mouth.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence I decided to ask the question that had been on my mind ever since he picked me up.

"What about your pack?" I asked timidly.

He stayed silent for a bit, tapping his fingers in a messy rhythm on the faded steering wheel.

"Ill have to get ahold of them as soon as I can."

He didn't look at me, and he didn't sound at all enthusiastic about it.

"Are you gonna go back to them? I'm sure they would be thrilled to hear your alright-" My smile was cut short as he held up his hand.

"Anything else." He said tiredly. "Anything."

"Sorry I just thought.." I trailed off. I thought maybe you missed them.

I turned to admire the scenery outside the window, I recognized it, It was Aspen and her biological parents old home.

The pasture is where they are buried, behind their old house. Far from where the scent of a bloody death and a rogue tainted the ground.

I never before had looked at it like this, like it was beautiful, like it didn't terrify me anymore.

I looked at it as the spot where Aspen and I had bonded.
