Kevin's POV

I'm awaken by the sunlight beaming through the window.

I yawn, stretching a bit, and smiles when I see Avery laying next to me sleeping peacefully.

I kiss Avery's forehead softly, whispering, "Good Morning, beautiful."

I grab my iPhone 4 off the night stand.

11:3O p.m

I slowly start to panic. Dammit, Im late for work!

I get off the bed running to the bathroom.

I put on my black business suit, and grabs my brief case.

I write Avery a letter,

I'll be back by 6 love (; <3

On my way out the door I hear the house phone ring.

No one ever calls my house phone, I don't even know why I have a house phone.

I answer the house phone,

"Good morning, Ms. Jones."

"This isn't her.. May I ask who's calling?"

"This is her Dr. Ms. Jones missed a check up yesterday."

"But she just got out a couple of days ago."

"Yes, but she can't keep missing appointments. She has an ultra sound coming up. We have to make sure the baby's healthy."

"Wait, I think you have the wrong Ms. Jones."

He chuckles.

"No, sir this is the number she told me she can be reached at."

"So, you're telling me Avery is pregnant?" I ask nervously.

"Yes, sir."

I hang up, slamming the house phone down.

WHAT?! How can she not tell me!?!!

I storm out the house angry at Avery for keeping this from me.

I get into my car and drive off to work. I was waaaay past speed limit.

I ran a red light and if this day couldn't get any worse the police pulls me over.

I roll down my window, and this man eyes widen.

"Kevin Wells, pastor's son ?" He smirks, not wanting to believe it.

"Officer Johnson." I say through clenched teeth.

"Wow, you're father would not be happy. You-"

I cut him off.

"Im late for work I don't need your damn lecture, just give me the ticket if you're gonna give it."

He looks even more shocked.

"God Bless You, Thomas." He scoffs, walking off.

I roll my eyes, pulling off.

About 5 minutes later, I pull up at the hell hole. I speed walk so no one notices my tardiness.

I sigh, relieved that I got to my office without any problems.

5 HOURS LATER

I'm exhausted. I really need to get my mind off of Avery. I've been thinking about her nonstop.

I'm surprised I got everything done. Ugh, I need something to take all this stress off.

Like a drink or something.
