I could hear yelling from outside and someone trying to break down the door. "Don't make a sound." he slurrs then slamming the hallway door in my face.
I look st my skinny,bruised body that looks like it belongs to a 10 year old instead of a of a 22 year old.my once long blonde curly hair now a pixie and looking like a boys haircut.I hardly ate and when I did it was a Apple or a half eaten bag of chips that the asswhole left behind.
I heard the door being kicked in and more yelling. Then it got quiet, I heard a lady yelling as more people looked around.
"WERE IS SHE!" a older man yelled
"I don't know what the hell your talking about."
"Weres Terri Johnson? Your step daughter that your abusing?"
Then I heard footsteps coming my way, I moved to the back of the closet. I heard the doorknob jiggle then open, I flinched waiting for the abuse I follow.
"Oh hunny, it's all over,he's gone." the ladies voice said comforting
I looked up at her still shaking in fear, she looked at me,I feel like I could trust her so I got closer to her an let her help me up. I shivered at the feel of cold air, then I looked down at what I was wearing, shorts and a tank top that were one size to big.
I felt her put a blanket around me,I squinted at the Sun, I can remember the last time I was outside.
"Come on hunny, no one is going to hurt you anymore. Would you like anything to eat? You need to eat."
I shook my head yes, unable to trust my voice, I saw two younger guys standing in front of anther van about my age.
I flinched backing away,"its ok, there not going to hurt you. Trust me they might look tough but there big teddy bears. Its understandable with what you been through learning how to trust people again."
I it infront of Beth's van and the other two guys got in the other van.
"What do you feel like eating Terri? Hugery for anything? You name it I'll get it for you."
I looked surprised at her, I can have anything? I had trouble with my voice, when I was with him he barley let me use my voice. I hardly spoke, I was to scared to. So I nodded my head yes again.
She pulled up to a local burger place went to. I sat in the little booth and waited.
She came back with two big burgers and fries and a drink.
"Here you go,eat up. We can put some meat back on that pretty body of yours. You can feel safe with us Terri, you can move in with us if you want. When your done, I can take you shopping for a couple things and if you want to and if your up for it you can meet the rest of the crew."
She already made me feel like I belong to the family and loved.
