I looked up at him, with him being a good foot taller then me, I dug up the courage and got up on my tip toes and kissed him, after he got over the shock he kissed me back.
He looked at me shocked,"does that answer your unanswered question?" I've never seen him speechless before.
He leaned down and kissed me again,"will you be my girlfriend?"
"Of course."
"I hope I can keep hearing that pretty voice of yours."
I blushed,turning my attention at the bird,"does anyone hold him?"I asked as the bird whistled bobbing his head up and down. He looked like he was dancing.
"He's picky on who holds him but it looks like he'll let you." Leland replies Leaning over to un hook the cage. The bird hopped on his finger." holdout ur hand near his feet,he'll hope on."
I held out my finger as the bird hopped on,dancing again,'hello pretty' he said again
"That's the fastest he gotten use to someone before. He's your pet,I mean if you want one."
"I love birds, there adorable." I said gently petting the bird,"does he have a name?"
"Petey."
'Petey' he mocked showing off his yellow mohawk.
I laughed,"so I can practically adopt Petey."
"If you want."
Petey jumped on my shoulder and sat there as we walked around the house. He didn't try to fly away,just Sat there talking.
'Disco boogie' I laughed at the random words Petey said'pretty bird' then he whistles
"Now he talks." Duane Lee says walking into the living room. Then he saw Petey dancing on my shoulder.
'My girl'
I laughed holding my finger out for Petey can hop on.
"Wanna treat?" I asked Petey totally forgetting about Duane Lee
"She has a voice!'' he said in excitement
"Who?" Beth said coming from the kitchen with dog.
"Terri."
'She talks' Petey mocked
I shook my head laughing, I went into the kitchen to get a cracker for petey.
I broke up the cracker into small pieces for him," little at a time Petey." I said to the bird but enough for them to hear.
"I'll be damed, she can talk."dog said," nice to finally hear your voice."
I chuckled,"thanks."
"I see you made a new friend." dog said looking at Petey who was dancing on my shoulder looking Leland
Then I felt him wrap his arms around my waist as Petey moved to the top of my head. I laughed "silly bird."
Petey laughed 'silly bird,pretty bird'
"Now he's not going to shut up." Duane Lee said
"So you two are finally together." Beth said
I let Petey get on my finger and he hoped on my shoulder," finally got up the nerves to ask her."
