Chapter 21

Your alarm clock beeped loudly interrupting your slumber and you groaned as you got out of bed. You looked over and saw Wes sleeping soundly beside you.

You got up and went through your morning routine before waking him up. As per usual. You both headed out to work as you locked D/n inside. Wes gave you a customary kiss on the cheek as you got into your separate cars.

Work went as usual, and you were heading home. You usually left before Wes because he had more work to do. You immediately changed into comfortable clothes and snuggled up on the couch with d/n watching your favorite movie.

It was a routine you'd started for Friday's. There's was a bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and it felt so relaxing you fell asleep for a while. Soon your phone buzzed with a text from Wes.

Hey, We're going out tonight. Wear something nice and I'll pick you up around 8:00

That was not a usual Friday thing. You and Wes rarely went out, let alone to a fancy place. Not that you were complaining. You went to your room to find something to wear. Picking out a short mint green dress with shirt sleeves and some white sandals. Fixing your h/c hair into curls.

You didn't usually wear that much make up so you applied a little more than usual. Actually trying to get nice eyeliner. You were finally satisfied with your face when the door opened. You checked the time to see it was exactly 8:00. Grabbing a hand bag you walked out to meet Wes. He sucked in a breath.

"You look beautiful Y/n, absolutely gorgeous"

You blushed a light red and noticed his suit.

"You're not too bad yourself handsome"

You said, nudging his shoulder. A blush crept up his neck and he smiled.

"Shall we?"

He asked, holding out his arm

"We shall"

You replied reaching for his hand instead and intertwining your fingers. He grinned and you headed out the door and got into the car. Once you had gotten to the restaurant and sat at your table, you reached out and grabbed his hands.

"Was there a reason we're here?"

You asked, smiling softly.  He looked kind of nervous and he chuckled softly.

"I just wanted to take you out, it feels like I never do"

You smirked. There was definitely something going on, you could tell when he was nervous, and lying.

"Ok"

You acted as if nothing was happening, going along with it. As you ate, you noticed Wes was getting increasingly nervous. He had started to sweat now. After the meal, he drove you to a park.

"Follow me"

He said, grabbing your hand a pulling you towards a small grove of trees. Now you were confused. Inside the center there was a small heart arranged out of candles. Your favorite song started playing on a speaker. You gasped as you looked down and saw Wes on one knee, holding out a small velvet box with a ring in the center

"Y/n, since I met you, I've been the happiest I've ever been. I can't imagine life without you. I need you to wake me up in the morning, to make me cookies when I'm feeling down. I love you with all my heart and I was always will, would you make me even happier by spending the rest of your life with me?"

You felt tears slip down your cheeks and you nodded vigorously.

"Of course, yes!"

He slipped the ring onto your finger and stood up. He pulled you closer to him and kissed you passionately. 

"I love you so much Y/n"

You cried happily and leaned into his chest

"I love you more"

He smirked and kissed the top of your head. You started swaying to the music with him under the stars. This was one of the happiest moments of your life
