THE REMAINDER OF the weekend went with similar antics, consisting of multiple cuddling sessions, a couple more Disney movies, and a "wrestling match" that may have ended up being a bit more of a tickle fight.

Tyler was incredibly happy with how his weekend with Josh had played out, and he was looking forward to the coming week going over in a similar fashion.

Only, it didn't.

"Awright, class, settle down! We have a new student today; she's come t'Georgia all the way from the big city'a New York. Deborah, go ahead and introduce yourself."

A girl a little taller than Tyler stood at the front of the class, a sly smile on her face. Her natural, ginger hair dangled passed her shoulders, and her cheekbones protruded sharply from her face.

"I'm Debby!" she announced matter-of-factly, rocking back on her heels with a flutter of her eyelash extensions. The class let out a chorus of quiet and monotone hellos that seemed to merge into one big voice. Josh stared at her, curiosity sparking in him, for he had never talked to someone from a city before.

"She's pretty."

Tyler snapped his head over to Josh, who was staring in a trance-like manner at the new girl. Tyler had never heard Josh call anyone pretty but him. Now suddenly, this complete stranger shows up, and Josh is practically drooling!

Tyler did not like the feeling in his chest, not one bit.

The feminine boy shrunk down in his seat, trying to decipher this entirely new emotion that went by the name of jealousy.

Tyler had never experienced jealousy before, at least never for a person; he never had a reason to. Ever since he met Josh, the brunette had him entirely to himself. So, now, he sat, completely overwhelmed with this unknown feeling and not even sure what it even was that he was feeling.

All he knew is that it made him feel angry and sad and sick to his stomach all at the same time, and he did not like it.

"Well, Debby, y'can sit on over near Joshua; he's got an empty seat right next t'him. Joshua, raise your hand."

Josh's hand shot up, and Tyler scowled at it. The brunette huffed as the red-head skipped over, sliding into the space next to Josh, and, like the polite gentleman he was, he immediately stuck his hand out.

"I'm Josh," he greeted, smiling wide. She took his hand and shook it.

"Debby."

Tyler nearly rolled his eyes, but he knew his momma taught him better. "We know your name; y'said it in front'a the class already," he huffed. Debby looked shocked for a moment before her face contorted into a malicious scowl, unnoticed by Josh, who was too busy looking at the brunette in surprise, used to Tyler's usual timid politeness, especially toward new people. Tyler himself felt surprised, surprised that all it took was Josh complementing someone else to get him jealous.

Josh quickly turned back to Debby. "Don't cha' worry 'bout him," he reassured her. "He's... He's just..." Josh struggled to come up with an excuse for Tyler's behavior, which only increased the embarrassment and shame welling in the younger boy's chest. "He's... only havin' a bad mornin', s'all; don't pay him no mind."
