Because Of You Now Im Dead

Chapter 3

            Oscar Wilde once wrote The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple.
I keep replaying those words in my head over and over trying to understand it. I guess the truth is never simple, although I wish it was that way, life would be so simple.

I don't know where to start looking for clues of Tatiana's death, the only person I know its Lucas, Tatiana had friends but they all hated me when I was dating her, I bet they hate me even more cause they think I killed their best friend. As I was doing my morning routines I kept gathering thoughts of how to clear my name. I can't even live in peace every time I go out people stares and whisper things about me some of them even are afraid of me. I wonder how life will be when this mystery case is solved.

I heard someone knocking and I got up from the couch and answered the door. 

"mom? dad?" I said surprisingly shocked I haven't seen my parents in a years last time I saw them was when I graduated. They never approved my relationship with Tatiana they had nothing against her though it was her parents they never got along my parents thought that they were mysterious and weird. Now that I think about it they were weird they use to talk so mysterious and there house was always locked and the blinds was always closed, every time I would go there it was always dark I never knew why.

"well aren't you going to invite us in?" my mom said

"yeah sorry come in, I'm so glad to see you guys" I said hugging them

"can I offer you guys something"

"no thanks we just want to talk to you" my mom said

"Is everything ok"

"yeah we are ok we are just worried about you"

"I'm fine mom"

"son everyone hates you and we are just worried that someone might hurt you, Tatiana was a very popular girl she had lots of friends and family"

"dad really I'm fine Lucas and I we're trying to solve this case, I even have a job as a police officer"

"just promise you'll be careful" my mom said

"I promise" I smiled

"did you guys moved here?" I said

"yes we did we missed you so much so we decided to buy a house here"

"that's great I missed you guys too" we spent all morning together. Half of what we talked about was Tatiana and it got me thinking about her parents. Tatiana use to always complain about her parents, they never had a good bonding they were always fighting. I'm not saying that her parents killed her but did they even loved her, they were really upset about her death but they could've been pretending. I'm still not sure why they left town all of a sudden its not a coincidence that Lucas talks to them about Tatiana and then the next day they disappear. 

My parents finally left to unpack everything and I remembered that I haven't checked my phone today. I grabbed my phone and saw a message from Lucas

hey I found a clue are you at your house

I was shocked of what I read , I wonder what he found . I immediately  replied yes that I was home.

I'm on my way. he replied

I waited impatiently for him and I'm trying to figure out what could he have found. I wonder if this is the clue that's going to clear my name and solve everything I really hope so. I heard a car pulling up to my driveway and I looked to see if it was Lucas. I looked like a little kid waiting for his parents to come home with his toy. I didn't waited for Lucas to knock on the door I just opened and told him to come inside.

"what did you found?" I asked

"well unlike you I actually did something illegal"

"wait you did what, you do know that I'm a cop right"

"I know but right now it doesn't count cause you haven't started"

"true but.... you know what just tell me"

"I broke in into Tatiana's parents house and they still had their furniture and everything there they only took their clothes. I went to Tatiana's room and found her diary and this note"

"thanks for this but please Lucas no more doing things illegal what if Tatiana's parents comes back and sees that there daughter's diary is missing"

"hey just read it and then lecture me I want to know what she wrote" he says and I do as he says. I opened the note first cause I was curious

I heard you broke up with your boyfriend which makes me happy that your very obedient. Now don't worry he's not going to get hurt unless you do what I say meet me at our spot tomorrow at midnight you better not say a word about this

My heart broke as I was reading the note I can't believe someone was threaded Tatiana.

"so she never meant to break up with you" Lucas said but I couldn't say anything I was shocked of what I just read. I should've known that something was up the minute she broke up with me, she really did love me but I was so stupid and didn't realize what was wrong with her.

"Shawn? you ok" he says and I shake me head

"this is all my fault"

"you can't blame yourself for what happened you didn't knew"

"but I should've known I knew she loved me and when she broke up with me it didn't made sense"

"Shawn you have to calm down I know this is hard for you but you have to be strong, now you have a clue and now you know that she never meant to hurt you she was protecting you"

"it should've been the other way around it was me that had to protect her but your right I have to focus, her killer is still out there and I have to figure out who did this to her" I said with tears forming in my eyes I wanted to hold my tears but I couldn't it hurts so much that someone was threatening Tatiana to break up with me but why, why would someone do this. Now that I have this information I will definitely not rest until I find Tatiana's killer
