Because Of You Now Im Dead

chapter 5

"Shawn"" Jane said pulling up on her gray Mercedes

"need a ride?" she says

"sure" I got in her car and I put my seatbelt on

"could you drop me off at the coffee shop" I said and she nods. There was an awkward silence and I have no idea what to say I feel so uncomfortable that I feel like she's hearing my thoughts. I keep shuffling in my seat hoping to get to the coffee shop already. I feel like her speed limit at 5 that's how uncomfortable I am.

"are you ok?" she asked did I made her think that I need the bathroom since I'm moving too much, I wonder what she's thinking

"yeah I'm ok" I really hate small talks good thing we are almost at the coffee shop. I'm suppose to meet Lucas there

"I forgot to tell you I talked to the chief about Tatiana's case and he said if you could find clues about where the killer might be then we could open this case again"

"really?"

"yeah" she parked at the coffee shop and she handed me Tatiana's file

"thanks" I said and she smiled as I was getting out of her car I noticed that she got out too and I looked at her weird

"what your not the only one who drinks coffee" she said and I just kept walking, I really hope she gets her coffee and leave she's nice but I just really need to talk to Lucas alone plus she's really nosy I mean I know she's trying to help me but she doesn't know when to give people some space. Although if I keep her hanging out with me I might solve Tatiana's case. we ordered our coffee and just as I suspected Jane sat down with me.

"Is this  where you go everyday?" she said as she took a sip of her coffee.

"yeah mostly with my best friend, this was Tatiana's favorite place" I keep searching for Lucas but as always he's late

"he's the one your meeting here"

"yeah"

"so tell me about Tatiana" she says and I looked at her confuse why would she want to know about her.

"what do you want to know"

"just what she's like, what was her hobbies" she said

"well she had hazel eyes, her hair was just like yours wavy and the color was dark blue that could pass as black her hair color was actually brown but she dyed it. She was skinny but always insecure she used to love making kids from the hospital feel better she was an amazing person" As I was describing Tatiana tears formed in my eyes I can't talk about her without crying. I remember when she use to work at the hospital all of the kids loved her I remember when she use to tell me how amazing it is to make kids laugh they would forget that they were sick every time Tatiana would come in the hospital. The bad thing is she wasn't a good role model outside the hospital she use to fight all the time even with girls who flirted with me but years passed and she changed she only did it because of the kids and because once she got arrested and she got fired from her job she was so devastated that she couldn't see the kids anymore.

"she sounds nice" she says I don't want her to think Tatiana was a monster at first

"hey" Lucas said and I am so glad he came

"hi this is Jane she works at the police station, Jane this is my best friend Lucas"

"nice to meet you" she says and they shook hands. Lucas sat next to me and looked at me confuse he's probably wondering why I didn't told him that I was bringing Jane which wasn't what I planned.  

"um Shawn?" Jane said and I looked at her

"does he knows?" she said looking at Tatiana's file

"yes he knows and that's what I need to talk to you about" I said looking at Lucas and realizing that Jane is now involved

"well us, we have to find her killer" I add

"yes but how all we got is Tatiana's file" Lucas said and he's right

"true but if we could get a warrant we can go inside Tatiana's house" Jane said

"its actually her father's house he never let Tatiana get her own house she was always locked up and when I would take her on a date her dad would send his driver to take us to places"

"are you serious!" Jane said surprised and I nodded Tatiana's parents use to treat her like a prisoner well her dad not her mom she was a lovely person but she always agrees with her husband decisions whatever he says either good or bad she would go along with it. I felt bad for her and Tatiana he was a monster well still is.

"we can't get a warrant without the owners, Jane could we trust you" I said not realizing how hurtful sounds but I really need to know before I can tell her the secret Lucas and I have

"wow that hurt didn't I helped you talk to the chief about this case?"

"sorry I just mean.. well we have clues but we cant tell the chief because..........."

"I stole it"

"Lucas" I said giving him a why are you being so stupid look

"its ok I wont tell but if those clues are good then we have to find a way to take him to the chief without doing something illegal but how"

"we are definitely stuck and it frustrates me" I said if only her dad was here

"wait I can talk to the chief not about the clues obviously but of her father you can tell him how mysterious he is to see if the chief could locate him. what's his name?" Jane said

"Nathan and his wife is Ana" I said and she wrote it down

"do you think this will work maybe Lucas can come too and you could tell them what Nathan said to you when you asked about Tatiana"

"wait there's more to the story?" Jane said and we told her what happened she was shocked of what she heard and agreed with us when we said that it was suspicious when he left out of town. I hope that with all of this information the chief would open up this case.
