chapter 7

"Thanks for coming I felt like we shouldn't talk about this over the phone" I said as we all took a seat on the couch. I opened the box and started to take everything out.

"what's all this?" Jane asked

"someone left this on my door with this card it says Tatiana's memories" she looked at me scared just like how Tatiana looked at me in my dream. I'm a little afraid because Tatiana disappeared I really don't want anything to happened to Jane, I need her so I can solve this mystery and because I feel like I need to protect her I don't know why.

"The chief said you had some information and that I wasn't the only one that received a mystery gift so does that means you received something too?" I asked and tears formed in her eyes. She grabbed her phone and showed me a picture of a strapless white short dress and it had blood all over it.

"I received this in a box too, I think this was Tatiana's dress" she said shaking

"I gave it to the chief and he put it in a plastic bag as evidence. Shawn I've never been this scared in my life I feel like I'm not safe" she adds crying I looked at Lucas to see if he had something to say but he just looked shocked. I hugged Jane to try to comfort her but she kept crying.

"Nothing is going to happened to you, I'll make sure of it" I said still hugging her

"Something about this doesn't make sense" Lucas finally said

"what you mean?"

"why would someone send you guys these things especially Jane" He's right it doesn't make sense, who would send this to us and why

"That's what I want to know I suspect that Tatiana's dad is the one behind this, Jane could you find out where he lives and find his number" I said

"of course"

"hey Shawn remember this" Lucas said holding a bear that I won for Tatiana at the carnival when we went out on our double date it was Tatiana and I and Lucas and his ex girlfriend. I remember that day Tatiana was a little cranky I had a short argument with her dad.

-FLASHBACK-

"Dad can Shawn and I go to the carnival" Tatiana said

"yeah but only if the driver takes you"

"But dad the carnival is around the corner we could go walking"

"No Tatiana if the driver can't take you your not going anywhere" her dad said getting annoyed

"but dad"

"Sir with all respect what do you have against me, I will never hurt your daughter" I said interrupting Tatiana

"Shawn" Tatiana said giving me a stop talking look but as always I didn't listen

"do you have a problem of how I protect my daughter" he said pushing his daughter out of the way out of the way, Tatiana got scared and tried to grab her dad's hand so he wont get close to me but he pulled away.

"yes I do have a problem why can't you let Tatiana live her life she's already 18 she should make her own decisions"

"you should mind your own business this is between my daughter and I. If you want to keep dating her I suggest you keep your mouth shut"

"you can threaten me all you want but no threat is going to separate me from Tatiana"

"ok stop it!!! dad we will go with the driver" Tatiana said looking at me, I'm not sure if she's mad at me or just disappointed that we have to take the driver and since we have to take the driver I'm gonna make him get Lucas and his girlfriend

"alright glad you see things my way" he said in a creepy way. We went with the driver to pick up Lucas and his girlfriend. Tatiana was silent ever since we got in the car which makes me think that she's mad at me. When we arrived at the carnival I tried to hold her hand but she pulled away. When Lucas and his girlfriend left to play games I tried to talk to Tatiana but she was just giving me small talks.

"I'm sorry love, I was just trying to defend you" I said and she stopped walking and looked at me

" I don't need you to defend me you really don't know my dad something horrible could've happened to you if you would've got him more mad" she said worried. what could her dad do to me that she got worried I mean he's creepy but he's not going to kill me. or would he?

"Nothing will ever happened to me and by the way what he would've done"

" you don't know what he will do you always say nothing is gonna happen but you don't know that you don't know anything"

"then explain to me you know you should be grateful that I defended you I would've just stayed shut and let your dad hit you or something"

"my dad would never touch me and what are you waiting for a thank you"

"that would sound nice"

"well its not going to happened" she said crossing her arms. this date is not going so well I should've kept my mouth shut not with her dad whether she likes it or not I will always defend her.

"can we just put this behind us and have fun please"

"lets see if you could win me that giant teddy bear ill forgive you" she said smiling and pointing to the ring toss game

"deal" I said giving her a kiss but she pulled away quickly

"I will give you more kisses when you win me that teddy bear"

" you think your so smart but I'm actually going to win it" I said taking her to the ring toss game

END OF FLASHBACK

"Shawn?" Lucas said bringing me back to reality from all the memories we had that one was my favorite one she was so surprised when I won it. it took me five tries just to win her that teddy bear I still remember her face every time I would loose she would've laugh she kept telling me to give up but I never did until I won.

"huh sorry did you guys said something"

"we were talking about suspect, any thoughts"

"I think her dad might have done it"

"why"

"that day of the carnival Tatiana was scared that her dad might hurt me for confronting him I asked her what would he do and she changed the subject by yelling at me"

"but why would he kill his own daughter?" Jane ask

"well because of the note that Lucas found in her room" I went to find the note and I showed it to Jane

"look it says... I heard you broke up with your boyfriend which makes me happy that your very obedient. Now don't worry he's not going to get hurt unless you do what I say meet me at our spot tomorrow at midnight you better not say a word about this"

"when did this happened?" Jane ask

"two days after the carnival"

"are you serious" she said and I nodded

"well did the chief saw everything on this box?"

"no"

"thats great we can say that this note was inside along with her diary" she said

"thats a great idea" suddenly my phone started ringing and I was a little confuse of why my mom was calling me

"hey whats up" I said

"Shawn!" my mom said sounding scared and it also sounds like she was crying

"Mom is everything ok"

"Shawn come quick I think there's somebody in the house" she said and I heard a gun shot

"mom! mom!" oh no this can't be happening

"whats going on" Lucas said

"I think someone just shot my mom"

"what! I'll call for back up" Jane said with that we left and Lucas stayed behind to be safe even though he was begging us to let him go. I really hope my mom is ok.
