He smashed his lips to mine before I could say anything. He got up and pushed me down. I was shocked, but it felt good. I closed me eyes. I went to put my hands in his hair but stopped.

"Dinger..." I said softly. He didn't respond he kept kissing me. He got lower until his body was pressed against mine. Then it hit me. This is my best friend Dinger. No!

"Dinger stop." I said. He didn't budge.

"Dinger." I said again. He only kissed me more roughly.

"Dinger get off me!" I shoved him off me.

"What the hell was that!" I looked at him, we both had the same expression. Eyes wide and mouths slightly opened, only mine was out of fury and surprise.

"Lilah I'm sorry. I didn't, I didn't mean to." His eyes full of sincerity, but if he didn't mean to, why did he do it? He advanced towards me.

"No," I pushed him back lightly. "No, don't get near me. I'm going to pretend this never happened, and I suggest you do too." I could see the hurt in his eyes, at that moment I felt so sorry. Why was I doing this? He liked me, and liked him. Wait, no that's not right.

"Lilah I'm really sorry." He pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Dinger stop talking about it please. I don't want the whole incident to be stuck in repeat in my head, ok?" He nodded.

"Are we still friends?" He asked.

"I don't know." I said softly, I was being honest, I didn't know. I mean how would you feel if your best friend kissed you.

"Look I gotta get ready, because I got a thing to go too."

"With who? Don't tell me Joel." I looked at him, I didn't dare say anything. But it seemed as though he could see into my mind. "Oh my God Lilah you can do better."

"Dinger since when the hell do you care about who I'm going out with?" I was getting agitated. "You think you can just kiss me once and the all of a sudden you're able to tell me who I can and can't go out with?"

"No, you're my best friend, and I don't want you being around that drunk. He can become very aggressive when drunk." Dinger fired back. I couldn't take this shit.

The other night we were having dinner, when Bobby asked if I could come with him and Dinger to some movie. My father started shouting.

"I don't want you near that low life scum bag! Is that understandable!"

Everyone had shut up and was now staring at us.

"Anthony please calm down."

My mother said. What did she know she agreed with him.

"Dad please, he's is a nice boy."

"NO YOU LISTEN HERE, IF I SO MUCH AS SEE YOU WITH HIM CONSIDER YOUR ASS GROUNDED AND PUNISHED!"

"YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME! YOU NEVER CARE ABOUT ME! SO I DON'T SEE WHY YOU ALL OF A SUDDEN BECAUSE OF A BOY!"

Someone had knocked on the door. My father answered the door.

"Hello Mr. Keller I was wonder if Delilah could come with Bobby and I to the movies tonight?" Dinger had asked. I was so sorry for whatever my father was about to say.

"Listen here you little excuse of a boy. If I see you around my daughter I will kill you. So I suggest you'd yay the hell away from her." He spat in Dinger's face.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE! LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU SON OF A BITCH! YOU DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ME! YOU NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL!"

I ran up to Bobby's room slamming the door. I hated this. They don't care a bout me. The only reason HE cares now was all the money he would have to put towards me moving. I cried that night.

I haven't talked to Dinger since. I avoided him at all costs. Until now.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!" I yelled as I closed my eyes and covered my ears.

"Fuck you, I don't want to be your friend!" I said.

"That's your dad talking." He said.

"Bullshit."

"Bull true." He sat down across from me. "I know how your dad feels about you. He doesn't give a shit about you. You're just a kid, Delilah."

"Oh, gee! Thanks, Dad." I spat.

"Wish the hell I was your dad. You wouldn't be goin' around talkin' like this to people who care about you. You're bright and amazing Delilah. And if your parents are too fucked up to do it, then maybe I should." Sat next to me and put his arm around me.

"Fuck off." I said. His grip became tighter.

"No."

"I said leave." I got out of his grip and into Bobby's closet. I changed. My clothes smelled like Dinger. I walked out to find he was gone. I sighed in relief.

I left in my dad's car, figured he wouldn't mind. I sure as hell didn't. To Joel's I was going. I had so much on my mind. The whole Dinger thing, shit.
