All I know was that whatever they tested me on was very simple. The jutsus were simple and easy to perform, and the questions they asked me based on strategy were even easier. It was things like: "You're in a three man squad and one runs out of chakra while in battle, what do you do?" or "You're escorting someone to another nation and you're under attack, what do you do?" They were simple questions that I answered and they were pleased with them. How do I know they liked them? Well they gave me my headband after all. Today I took the test to become a genin and I passed.
When I walk out of the building I see two figures standing there, Kotetsu and Hayate. Both of them were waiting for me while I took the exam to make sure I passed, or were there for me in case I failed. Hamamatsu was there of course, he was laying at Hayate's feet while in his cat state, but he pops right up when he hears the doors open. He runs over to me and I puck him up just to put him on my head where he lays on it and starts messing with the shiny metal of the headband that was already tied around my forehead.
"You passed!" Kotetsu says and gives me a very excited smile while he throws a fist up in the air. Hayate on the other hand takes a more subtle approach and comes over and pats me on the back.
"We knew you would pass with ease. That's just how good of a shinobi you are." Hayate says as Kotetsu joins us while we start walking to somewhere else in the village. "You passed the test a few years before people normally would so you should be extra proud of yourself."
"When you get assigned a team then the fun really begins because that's when you'll start to go on missions." Kotetsu tells me and we walks into some barbecue restaurant. I know that I will have to go on missions, I just hope I can get a good team, and hopefully a good sensei.
"I'll make sure that whoever your team leader is that they won't know anything about your clan." Hayate says reassuring my doubts. I knew he would help me, and that's all I really want from them, just a little bit of help.
"I'm supposed to meet my team in a few minutes as it says on the paper I got. They said since I took my test the day after graduation that I was able to be put right in with a group." I explain as I look at Kotetsu and Hayate. "Thanks for being there today, but I've got to go meet this team of mine." I say and wave to them as I start to make my way to where ever this meeting was supposed to be.
I was surprised on how well I know my way around the village from not being here. The times I have snuck in with Ryota we just walked around and tried not to get noticed, and it usually worked, but sometimes we got caught and just lied our way out of it.
The place we were meeting was the top of the hill with all the Hokage's faces on it. The place seemed a little excessive for a meetup of our squad but it is what it is. I was making my way up the mountain when a man with grey hair and a shinobi jacket on. He was reading a book that was unknown to me, but I didn't want to bother him when he seemed to be very interested in his book.
I was nearing the top of the hill when Hamamatsu jumps off my head and stops in front of me. He then turns to his human form and looks at me. "Is something wrong?" I ask him and look around to see what made him stop.
"Nothing. I just want you to make sure you don't give them much info on you. There are people who would report you right away, and you can't have that happen after you came this far." Hamamatsu tells me and puts both his hands on my shoulders. "You will become an amazing ninja, we can't let your journey end here." he tells me and I nod in agreement. After all the hard work I went through just to get here I can't let it go to waste, I can't.
He goes back to his cat nature and walks along beside me as we reach the top. When we get up there we see three other people already there. Two boys and a woman. This must be the rest of the team. I walk over and sit down on the ground while the two boys were sitting on separate logs and the woman was standing in front of all three of us.
"Well now that were all here let's get started. I'm Anko Mitarashi leader of team three, aka you guys. I'm a jonin who worked for Orochimaru while he was a rogue ninja. I had given a mark which had his chakra in it and allows me to become more powerful, but it's sealed away for everyone's safety. I am the proctor of the second portion of the chunin exams which means I will be gone from your group later on due to that. But that also means that I will be training you extra hard so you can pass your chunin exams when you're ready. Now that you know about me I want to know your names, your chakra element, and what grade you passed with in the final exam." Anko tells us. She points to the boy on her right and tells him to go first. He looks at all of us and starts to talk.
"I'm Satoru Akimoto. I'm a fire style user, and I passed with an ninety-four." He tells us. His voice was mellow and calm when he spoke. Not much emotion came out, but that might be because he's serious. The look on his face told me that he was serious about becoming a shinobi, but didn't really care about us.
"I'm Karu Sazuke. I'm an earth style user and I passed with a ninety-six." Karu was different than Satoru and I can tell. Karu's voice was more lively and relaxed, which showed that he was fine with us already, and his appearance made the impression that he was ready for anything you could throw at him and still manage to be calm.
"I'm Mayano..." I forgot that I couldn't use my last name or else they would report me. "Hayashi." I really used that name. The name Hayashi means forest. I said my last name was the place I lived. "I'm a water style user and I passed with a seventy-one." I say and Hamamatsu hisses at the sound of that. Sure I was good at answering questions and using my ninja tools, but when it came to the jutsus like water and showing them what I could do put me under a lot of pressure because I tend to use a lightning jutsu out of pure excitement.
"A seventy-one huh? Well I suppose we all can't be geniuses." Anko says and stands up. "You two will need to make sure she trains up to your level. The team is only as strong as it's weakest link, and so far she is your weakest link." both of the boys were looking at me and did not seem happy. "But I heard you took the test today is that correct?" she asks me and looks at some papers she was holding.
"Yeah." I respond and both the boys were still glaring at me.
"And you're how old?" she asks yet another question that will be sure to infuriate the boys.
"Ten." as soon as I say that both boys looked like they could kill me. I graduated two years earlier than most kids would, and to get a low score then to be paired up with two high scoring boys was not the best idea.
"I see, but now that we got that out of the way we know that you have much training to do in order to have you at their level. You three will participate in the next up coming chunin exams, and that is six months from now since the first one this year just ended. We have much to prepare for, so starting tomorrow all three of you will meet me back here at dawn." Anko explains to us and quickly disappears after that.
I was left there with both of the boys who already didn't seem to like me. Their expressions gave that away and I was sure that they were pissed that they were stuck on a team with me. "Just stay out of our way." Satoru says as he stands up and looks at Karu who was looking at me.
"Why did you take the exam? You passed with a low score and now were stuck with you. Do you really think you can catch up to our level?" Karu asks rudely. It was obvious that these two boys did not want to be around me or even on the same team as me, but they had to stay with me until they were no longer genin. They decided to start walking away without having to hear my response.
"I needed to become a shinobi. I need to prove our strength." I say and make my hands into fists. "Just you wait until we get in a battle. You'll see just how good I am." I say and watch them as they walk down the mountain.
