Chapter eight

Peter's P.O.V.

When I wake up, I notice Vivian is no longer next to me. I force myself up and out of the cave to see it is still dark out. Voices could be heard from a few yards away, and I could instantly tell one was Vivian's. I fly up into a tree to get a closer look.

A hooded figure with blond hair poking out ,which I think is Felix, speaks in a forceful tone. "You must not let this happen again. Keep your feelings to yourself." he spits in her face then runs off.

Vivian's knees buckle before she falls to the ground and sobs, holding her legs tightly to her chest. I fall down to her and rest my hand on her shoulder.

"I think it's time to tell her the truth." I look her dead in the eye then lead her back to the cave.

I take her back to bed and sit her on my lap. "now please, tell me what you're up to."

She hesitates before she speaks,"Swear not to tell?"

"I swear." I assure her.

Vivian pauses and looks at me. I still question the nothingness in her eyes.

"Felix ripped my heart out of me. And he wants me to get you close to me so we can kill you. But I can't." She replies without even looking at me.

"Why does he want you to kill me?" I ask in fear she might bring herself to do it.

"So he can rule Neverland and the Lost boys. If he killed you himself, the boys wouldn't follow him. I just happened to be the closest one to you he could find." she gets up and sits next to what's left of the fire. "Please, don't be mad at me. I was naive to accept."

"It's okay. as long as you promise never to lie to me and trust me to get your heart back." I stand over her and lift her chin up to look at me. "come get some sleep"

I scoop her delicate body up and wrap her under the covers, wrap my arms securely around her, and kiss her forehead."see you in the morning."

I will do anything to get her heart back. Then the two of us can finally be happy together here.
