Vivian's POV.
As the ship sail on into the night, it begins to lift out of the water and float up into the sky. My eyes widen as we levitate higher till I can touch the clouds. The sight was jaw dropping; clouds surrounding the ship, stars bright in the dark sky, and the breeze brushing through my hair.
"Quiet marvelous isn't it", Hook's voice makes me spin around in surprise.
"Very", I breathe out, his presence calming me. It was a strange feeling, but he made me feel safe.
"So, why would you go back home when you have me here?", He perks up taking a step closer to me.
"What would you be of assistance to me?", i question clearly not getting the point.
He pauses for a second' "Ahh, never mind." he leans over the side of the ship looking down at the sea far below. "So why leave the man you love to find love somewhere else?"
His question confuses me making me ask myself the same.
Why would I leave Peter for someone else to get love? Does he even love me? Do I love him? No, I need to stop questioning; Nibbs said this is the best for me.
"See, even you don't know", Hook gives me a mysterious smile. "Now, get some sleep. We should be home by sun rise."
He snakes his arm around my waist making me jump a little, his touch giving me shocks of warmth, as he leads me down into the haul of the ship. "We will be hitting the portal soon", he explains. I nods quaintly as we enter the dimly lit room filled with burly men.
I feel his arm leave my wait as he quickly steps back up to the deck. "Someone needs to steer the ships." He smiles. I turn back to look at the men grinning at me. For the first time I'm a while, I was actually scared. The men hovered over me; their eyes black and beady.
"There is no need to be afraid, darling." One of the men speaks up, clearly sensing my fear. The men slowly begin to talk amongst themselves, laughing as they sip the whiskey in their hands.
Suddenly, the ships jolts and the lights outside flash by us. After a few seconds, the ship is completely still as it enters the cool night air of the city.
Peter's POV.
I scream as I storm around the cave kicking and punching everything in sight. "WHY?!" I shout in despair till my lungs hurt. Tears force their way out of my eyes; at first, I hold them back, then I can't take it anymore. Tears endlessly begin to spill out of my eyes as I hold my head in my hands.
"Why" my voice is muffled by my skin. "Come back!" I cry lifting myself back onto my feet. I begin to punch the mattress sending a piece of paper into the air. Before the delicate parchment touches the ground, I wrap my hands around it noticing distinct writing on it. I read it to myself almost hearing her voice speak it in my head.
"Peter, I'm sorry it has come to this, but it seemed to be best for me. Nibbs told me that returning home would help me. I didn't want any of this to happen; I should've just let go of you after the night my dad died. I'm sorry. ~Vivian"
This is Nibbs' fault. He told her to leave. I need to go after her. I need to bring her back. I need to see her again. Why is this so painful? My hearts aches whilst a burning sensation fills my bloodshot eyes.
"Pan? Are you okay?" One of the Lost Boys rushes in to the cave. "What happened?" he pushes my head out of my arms to observe my face. "Come back to camp." I rest my arm on his shoulder as we head back to camp. I look down at my hand in surprise to see my knuckles scratched up and bloody; I probably didn't notice through all the punching.
The boys voices and the flames from the bonfire could be seen as we reach the camp. Once the boy, Slightly, and I come into view, all the boys clear a path to the fire, terrified of my dark side. I notice Nibbs a little farther from the others. Rage fills my eyes realizing this is his fault. "you." I mutter under my breath. I slowly walk over to him, intimidating him.
"You told her to leave", I punch right under his neck knocking the wind out of him. He falls to the ground trying to breathe. I lift him up by his collar so his feet are two inches above the muddy ground, then jab him in the jaw forcing him face down in the mud. "This is your fault" I begin to kick his rib cage making him cough up blood. I cringe at the sight of the red liquid drip from his mouth.
"It was the best choice." he tries to speak while still trying to regain his breath.
This provokes me even more; I clench my fist ready to knock him out for good, but before I can continue, a familiar voice in my head hold me back. I turn away in disgust from what I have done and run into the forest without a word.
