It seemed that all Savannah Benson would amount to was a mess. An unstable girl who couldn't erase her past, and let her demons continue to haunt her day after day, night after night. There was too much wrong with her to even consider fixing her.

With no hope for change and a life full of never-ending issues, someone suddenly comes along to throw her off her self-loathing, cold-shoulder routine. The possibility of letting them in doesn't seem so hard, which is the one thing she fears the most, except she can't help it. It's the easiest thing that's happened to her in a long time, and that's what makes it so terrifying.

This is not a fairy tale where everyone lives happily ever after – this is a story about love, loss, and every struggle in between. It might break your heart, but at least you'll feel something.

to those that know the struggle of loving someone who might not be perfect, and who might not end up to be the right person for you, but damnit, you're thankful for the times you had with them because no matter what, you can't un-love them. it might have been hard to love them, but it was worth every ounce of pain.

wow. so i never really thought i'd get around to making this story one that i'm truly proud of, but after editing and practically rewriting the entire thing, i love it. overall it's relatively the same story line i had from the beginning, but a lot has changed. just keep the song "lighter" by miley cyrus in mind as you read this (give it a listen if you haven't heard it – and watch the music video, it's really rad.)

i don't know where i'm going with this story or what the hell i'm doing, but i don't care. i've kind of written it a little differently than my normal style, but i hope that's a good thing. i love it and i wanted to post it, so here it is. i hope you like it.

this story deals with swearing, partying and twenty-something antics, minor drug use, sexual situations, some minor triggering scenes, possible broken heartedness, and the feels – swooning may occur. read at your own risk.

all chapters will be in savannah's p.o.v. unless stated otherwise. this story skips around a bit, so keep that in mind as you read. it's supposed to be a little jumpy and move kind of fast. just know that i intentionally didn't want it to drag on.
