With a heavy sigh I dropped the dress on the bed and tied my hair in a bun. I pursed my lips and took the card Will gave me out of my purse. He gave it to me and told me to call him whenever I wanted to hang out with him. I felt anger rise up in me all over again and I scrunched the card with every ounce of hatred that I had for him. I threw it across the room, a tear slipping down my cheek.
Ten years.
Ten godforsaken years I've been living with this fire inside me. This feeling of pure and utter murder. It wasn't my fault... None of it was. It was all his fault and now it was time for him to pay the bill.
“Hey, Tris,” the door opened and I jumped a bit, startled by the sudden movement, “Sorry I scared you,” Archer walked in.
“It's fine...” I said, looking up at him.
“I just had to give you your pills. You forgot it in the kitchen. Thank God, no one else saw—” his gaze met mine and he stopped talking, “it... Why are you crying? Are you alright?” he placed the pills on the nightstand before looking back at me.
I wiped the tears away, only for them to return again, “Why do you care?” I asked rather harshly.
“You could just pretend I do,” he shrugged.
I turned my head away from him, “I don't need your pity, Archer!” my voice raised and cracked a bit.
“I'm not pitying you. I'm just concerned,” his voice got softer, making me look up at him.
Concerned?
I felt myself getting angry all over again. I got up from the bed and smacked him right across the face, “How fucking dare you?! How dare you, Archer!?”
“What the fuck was that for?” he glared at me, but I didn't care.
I pushed him and pointed my index finger at him, “My emotions are not a fucking joke! These pills,” I took the pills from the nightstand, shoving it in his face, “are not a joke! Who do you think you are to just show up and mock my feelings, huh?! You don't care, Archer! And the truth is you never will either! Just let me be!” I pushed him again, throwing the pills on my bed.
The tears were streaming down my face like a waterfall as my emotions completely took over me. Who do they think they are to just walk into my life calmly and then leave like a hurricane? I didn't want him to care. I didn't need him to care. I just wanted to live alone without getting hurt again. I was tired of the meds and I was tired of seeing a therapist every two weeks.
“Listen here, don't ever dare laying your filthy hand on me again. You and your problem can go fuck yourselves. I'm through with this!” he yelled back at me before storming out of my room and slamming my door shut afterwards.
I closed my eyes, cursing myself for hitting Archer. He was right. I had no right to hurt him like that —to humiliate him like that. I probably didn't even have the guts to apologize anymore. I dropped to the ground, trying to hold in my uncontrollable sobs.
What have I done?
I wore my skinny jeans and a red blouse that revealed a lot of my cleavage. I put on a long necklace with an R as pendant. I placed my phone in my back pocket and my money in the front pocket of my jeans. My hair was tied back in a very tight ponytail and I did a natural full face of make up along with some red lipstick.
Now, if you are wondering where I'm going, I should make it clear that Will Trinton called about two hours ago, inviting me over for dinner. I agreed, of course, because I want to know as much as I can about him, so I could find the perfect way to destroy him completely. It didn't take a genius to know that this was nothing but a date. A date I didn't want.
I walked out of my room, went down the stairs where Asher as waiting for me while he played a game on his phone. He noticed my movement and looked up, his eyes growing wide.
“What the fuck... Who got so lucky? Are you and Archer finally dating?” he asked and my heart dropped to my stomach at the mention of his name.
Archer had been ignoring me all day. Usually he would throw in an insult here and there, but ever since the incident last night he hasn't even given me a hatred filled glare.
I shook my head, “No, I'm having dinner with someone else. Now, can we stop wasting time?”
He nodded and he did me a favor by driving me to the restaurant Will invited me to. I got out of the car after thanking Asher and he drove off. I exhaled as I looked at the glass doors of the restaurant. I wasn't sure if I wanted this...
It didn't matter. I wanted revenge and I was going to get my revenge.
I entered the restaurant and I looked around. I started towards his table when I noticed him talking to the waiter. I reached his table and faked a smile as he looked up at me.
“Good evening,” I breathed out.
“Hello, Julia. I'm glad you made it safely,” he kissed the back of my hand and I sat down.
“Thanks for inviting me for dinner,” I crossed my legs.
“Oh, I was just missing you too much,” he grinned and I nodded, “I've already ordered dinner, so now it's just a matter of waiting.”
“Thank you.”
The conversation continued and I found out quite enough about him. He was currently unemployed, which means that he was still living off my father's money. He divorced his wife two years ago and has a son with her. He then continued rambling on and on about this guy he knew who only knew to embarrass himself.
Completely boring, to be honest.
We ate our dinner, which was pasta and some fine red wine. I know, he seemed like a cheap motherfucker, but I didn't care about that. All I wanted was enough information.
“Who the fuck is this?” I heard a familiar voice behind me and my heart started beating faster.
I turned around, looking at him as he stalked to our table, “What are you doing here, Archer?” I glared at him.
He looked at me before looking at Will, “You just met him yesterday. And look at him,” he scowled, “He looks fucking fifty!”
People were starting to give us weird looks and I stood up, holding onto his arm roughly.
“I'm thirty-nine, actually,” Will butt in.
“Shut up!” Archer yelled at him, slamming on the table before looking at me as I scolded him.
“Archer! You're creating a fucking scene!” I whisper yelled at him.
“I don't care,” his voice was low and dangerous.
Before I could say anything further, he grabbed onto my wrist and started dragging me out of the restaurant. I gestured Will that I would call him later and he simply just nodded with a shocked expression plastered onto his face.
“What the fuck, Archer!” I hit his shoulder as soon as we got out of the restaurant.
He turned around and instead of talking, he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I kept yelling at him, wiggling and hitting, but he didn't budge. He opened his car door and threw me in the passenger's seat before closing the door and walking over to his side of the car. As soon as he got in the car, I started yelling at him again.
“What the hell is your problem?” I screamed at him, but his resting bitch face remained like that. He started driving, but I didn't care. “Who the hell do you think you are? Can't you just leave me the fuck alone and mind your own business. Why do you even care about who I go out wit—”
“Because I can't stand seeing you with another man!” he yelled at me as the car took an abrupt stop.
What?
