Chapter 7

Argo

I was lying down on a meadow. A meadow of blue grass. The sky was red and there was no wind. There were no clouds as far as the eye can see, but there were pirate ships, UFO's, unicorns that trail acid glitter, rainbow pops and cotton candy and rocket ships and a skyscraper walking around. The rest were already up, and Ervin helped me on my feet.

"This is definitely one of my dreams." I said to myself. Which brought me to the question

"Am I dreaming?"

"Technically we all are. Just in the same dream, place and time." Luna answered.

Next thing I knew they had McDonalds cheeseburgers and Coke. I guess you can do that in your dreams. I thought of my favorite fast food snack, an Oreo McFlurry and nuggets. I thought of the cold ice cream with Oreo bits and the soft nuggets with that Shrek green mustard I missed. To my surprise I saw them floating right in front of me. I grabbed them and chowed down.

"Welcome to the Dream-Between pal!" Taylor said.

"Dream-Between? What does that mean? How are we all in one dream? Why does this food taste so real?" I asked him.

"Let's just bring him to Mr. One. His explanation seems more logical and...normal. Like anything is normal here." Alysa said to Taylor.

I started to walk forward. And what lay in front of me was a pit, a bottomless pit full of darkness. But I still continued walking.

"Argo don't!" Krisafitsa yelled.

"Why would I bother, if you can do anything?" I asked joyfully.

"Dude, even in the Dream-Between there are rules and limitations ironically. This one in particular is the Maron Trench, where all the stupid Dreamers walk over and get sucked in. It's more powerful than us." Korr explained.

But he was too late.

I went over the cliff and fell down. I could hear them screaming, added by my own screaming. I don't want to die like this! All because of stupidity? How will Krisafitsa ever forgive me? Forgive her?

Thud.

"What the hell was that?" I landed on something. I looked down on my feet and saw something familiar. It was from one of my dreams. It looked like one of those Chinese dragons, with a long serpent-like body with four legs and sharp claws. It's face was a snake head, but with eyes of a cheetah. They were ember in color and had a gentle feel. It's scales kept on changing color, from all the colors in my Faber Castell 48 Watercolor pencils and back. It raised me up towards the edge of the cliff where a crying Krisafitsa was waiting for me.

"We thought you were dead!!!" She said when she saw me gracefully disembark the creature in pure awesomeness.

"I would have if it wasn't for this guy." I told her.

The creature moved and rubbed its scales making sounds. Like it was trying to say something.

"It's a she Argo." Alysa said. "Listen to her scales, and you can find words in those clicks and hisses. But I doubt you can. It took me three years---"

"Her name is Scardova. And she's my friend now." I told Alysa. And the serpent dragon clicked a yes.

"But...how did you???" She asked astounded.

"Like what you told me, listen closely and you will find words." I replied.

After some Get-To-Know-Scardova minutes she agreed to carry us to our destination. We hopped onto her and flew over and under floating rocks with waterfalls that seem to never end. I could see birds with crocodile heads, deers with rhino horns instead of antlers and fish on jet packs.
