A week later
My hair falls over shoulders, my head faces my hands. I fiddle with my fingers, waiting for those last seconds today he will hold my hand...
"Hey you alright?" Grayson asks.
I turn my head, looking at him.
It's been a week that we've been official. But not long enough. We are in the airport, minutes away for when Grayson leaves to L.A. He only stayed in Long Valley for a week, just for us to spend our last days together. I got to meet his parents and sister Cameron, they're all very sweet.
My parents got to meet Grayson and his family and they all got along really well. My mum and dad found out that i snuck out to the boxing comp last week. They weren't too mad, they told me i was a natural and that they will be enrolling me into a real comp in the future.
They finally realised that they shouldn't choose my life choices, they have to let me go a little. But the bad news is that i'm still grounded, just not as bad.
This past week is all i could ever ask for, all i did was spend my time with Grayson. As much as i want to kidnap him and lock him in my basement for the rest of his life, he has to go...
I give him a slight smile. "Yeah i'm fine" i whisper. He gently touches my cheek, they are hot from the tears that i hold back in my eyes.
"You promised me you wouldn't cry" he says, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I know, but i don't want to let you go Grayson" i say.
Grayson's pov
Jess squeezes my hand, while looking at me. I can see the pain in her eyes.
"I don't want to leave you" i whisper, shuffling closer to her.
"Flight 24, New Jersey to Los Angeles is ready for boarding." a lady says on the speakers.
People around us stand and walk to the doors. I can feel Jess' hand tightening around my fingers.
I look at her, her eyes are closed, her lips are plump. God i'm going to miss her.
We both stand up. "Jess, i love you more than anyone on this planet. And no other human being can replace you, you know that right?" i say holding her cheek.
I can see her lips quiver, she dives into my chest, locking her small arms around my waist. "I don't want you to go" she whispers.
I hug her back. "Trust me, i don't want to go either" i say.
Jess half releases from the hug, i stare down at her big hazel eyes. "Promise me something" she says. "Find someone who will treat you right, find someone who will respect you. Please" she says.
I look at her confused. "Jess, i have you. I don't need anyone else." i say.
"Grayson, i'm not going with you to L.A. i'm here, in Long Valley, and the only way to make me happy is to see you happy. Don't go living your life being with someone that's across the country. Please Grayson" she begs.
"2750.1 miles isn't that far to me" i smile.
She frowns looking to the ground.
"Jess, no one can replace you. The first thing i think of in the morning is you and the last thing i think of at night is you. Don't forget that" i say, tucking a strand of her purple hair behind her ear.
I gently hold her wrist, flipping it over to show the inside of her hand. "See that?" i say pointing to the small tattooed pink boxing glove on her wrist.
