Volume 1 chapter 7:{The knight's First New Year's party, New years special part 1}

When it came to his duties, he would try to push it back as much as he could. Some people would call it procrastination but he preferred to look at in a more positive perspective.

But today, Today was an exception. After all, it was a new year. With a new years celebration event coming up, Zen had his hands full with preparations and so he had a valid reason to miss out on desk work.

Making her way up to his office, she had noted that the halls were decorated with new year decorations. The poor Young Knight had never celebrated new years before, Hence, She was confused on what to do. In Tanbarun, Raj had never celebrated new years, deeming it a useless holiday. why would anyone want to celebrate the start of a new, long and tiring year?  It was all utter nonsense. Well, apparently he had changed his mind about all that.

Tanbarun was finally having a new year's party. Of course, with that being her home country, she was sent a letter personally from Raj, inviting her to come back for the holiday. She couldn't leave without Zen's permission though, and so, she continued her journey to his study.

"Join Parties?"

The thought of the idea had already sent shivers down her spine. she had no idea what Zen was implying and she wasn't sure if she wanted to. It was basically screaming trouble.

After a brief explanation, Zen had made it official. He would schedule a meeting, held for the subject of joining the new years parties. It wasn't as bad she had thought. Joining together would not only bring peace between the countries, but it will also give her a chance to see her friends in Tanbarun.

she hadn't seen them for three years, and her brother for eight. it would be like a family reunion at the start of the year. A smile couldn't help but show on her face. Zen's plan for making her show enough emotion was finally coming together.

It was coming together amazingly. He had thought, no. He knew that he was one step closer to his main goal. Now all he hopes for would be that there were no blunders in his way.

Thinking about it had gotten him thinking. He kind of sounded like he was plotting something. And, apparently looked like it too as he was rubbing his hands together and staring into space. which, might I add, caused the female much confusion.

Brushing it aside, she grabbed his hand, seemingly forgetting that he was a prince and her, a mere knight. As they continued down the hallway leading to the conference room, the smile that was present did not falter in even the slightest bit.

Finding interesting books from time to time becomes hard after you read almost all the books. which was the case for Y/n. She often wondered if there could be anyone out there who writes everyday and if so, she would love to read their work. Of course, it would have to be up to her level in order for her to tolerate reading the first page.

The wind had become cooler as it transitioned, day into night. As she sat there reading her book, she felt a piece of clothing being placed, or dropped, onto her shoulders.

"Miss, You shouldn't be out here in this weather. "

It was starting to rain and mostly likely could start pouring any minute, but she enjoyed the breeze before the rain. The smell of the rain. It held her some nostalgia from when she was little.

Blinking twice, She motioned for him to climb down the tree. The blood had probably all gone to his head. He had always reminded her of a spider, popping out of no where, upside down. Yes, she was very skilled at it too but he was like a ninja. Her brother had trained her in the art of sword drawing, Iai. They had practised hand to hand battle too but the main focus was sword fighting.

Standing up, She turned to Obi.

"Please, call me Y/n, obi"

He had never thought she would ask him to do that of all things. Nonetheless, he was happy. Happy that she had allowed to call her by her name, first name too.  She had far more authority than him, being a knight, And yet she treated him as if they were of equal level of importance. It wasn't a side of her that he didn't like though. It was probably one of her characteristics and he could name a few other things he liked about her.

The yawn that rang throughout the empty hallways, was almost unstoppably contagious. He yawned too. He just couldn't help it, who could? It was so sweet that just hearing it could make him fall asleep.

As she stood up from under the tree, she had obviously taken notice that obi was tired; probably from running around the whole day preparing for the party. Without any other words, she bowed and excused herself, saying that he should get some sleep too.

She stopped midway down the hall and turned around. She had totally forgotten that Obi had leant her a scarf. Being the responsible and kind knight that she was, she turned around to return it but the ninja, cat like boy had already left. Sighing she made a mental note to give it back tomorrow.

~

Unlike what she thought, obi had intended to give the scarf to her as a gift anyway. He had made pretty grand entrance too, hanging down from the tree. The feeling he got when she had pulled the scarf closer to herself could have driven him crazy.Although he knew that he could not develop feelings for her, he could not control which path his heart takes. Whether it was choosing to go on a trip or not, or choosing which cake to eat at breaks.

With her still lingering in his mind, he made his way to her room. For one last check up.

One last time.

~

Please tell me, who here likes Obi as well? Because I think they made his character a bit too well~.
