Aidan, your boyfriend, angrily stomps away from you and slams your front door, making you jump. You grab a pillow off of your couch and chuck it at your wall. You growl in frustration, your face hot.
Aidan and you have been dating for almost a year, and you've just had your first real fight. You were in the kitchen making dinner for the both of you when your phone went off in the living room. You asked Aidan to go get it. And that's when it started. You had received a text message from one of your old, guy friends from high school. He texted you telling you that he is in town and he wants to get together with you to catch up. Aidan freaked. No matter how much you assured him you felt nothing for this old classmate, the small argument turned into a monumental fight. Aidan and you were yelling at each other and you finally screamed at him to leave.
You walk to the window and watch as Aidan pulls his car out of your driveway and speeds off. You angrily turn away from the window and sit on the couch, clenching your jaw so tightly, it hurts.
Two hours later, you've cooled off. You watched a movie to get your mind off of the fight and Aidan.
You're about to walk upstairs to get ready for bed when your doorbell rings. You walk over to the door and peer through the peephole. You close your eyes and sigh deeply.
"Aidan." You whisper. You open your eyes and then pull the door open. Aidan stands there, a bouquet of roses in his hands, and his eyes rid-rimmed from crying. He sniffs.
"Can I please come in?" He asks. You nod and step aside. He walks in and you shut the door behind him.
"What are you doing here?" You ask, trying not to sound irritated.
"I've come to make peace." Aidan states, smiling cutely and holding out the bouquet. Your resolve drops and you find yourself smiling back. You take the flowers.
"Thank you." You say quietly.
Aidan grabs your hand and pulls you to the couch. You both sit down. "Y/N, I'm so sorry. I overreacted. I was just jealous—and angry—that you didn't tell me about Henry." He says.
"I'm sorry, too, Aidan. I never told you about Henry because he never came up. We were only friends in high school and that's it. If we were more than friends, sure, I would have told you. But the subject of Henry never came up. I haven't talked to him since before you and I were dating. He's been out of the country on business for the past year and a half." You explain.
"I guess that was pretty stupid of me to jump to conclusions, huh?" Aidan winces, rubbing the back of his neck.
You frown slightly and shrug a little. "I would have been angry too, I guess." You reply.
"Do you forgive me?" He asks.
"Only if you forgive me." You answer, smiling.
Aidan smiles. "Of course I forgive you." He says.
You wrap your arms around him and kiss him softly. "Can you promise me that in the future, will talk these things over without screaming at each other?" You ask.
"Definitely." Aidan laughs before kissing you again.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
