GORE WARNING

Recap: I stay at the hospital until I had to leave. I come back from my interview to find Lilly awake and well. We chat and laugh and I told her about my interview, yet I couldn't shake a feeling that I was being watched.

Mia POV

Cory showed up a while after I had gotten back from my interview. I smiled at him as he was trying to see what he could do to make Lilly more comfortable. He was a little clumsy with his actions and I kept laughing at him. I knew he did sincerely care for Lilly, though she could seem to care less.

"How did you slip Lilly?" I asked curiously.

"I'd like to know as well." Said Cory once Lilly was settled.

"I didn't slip, I was pushed."

"By who?" Cory and I said at the same time.

"The evil grandpa, who holds a grudge from anybody that crosses his path."

"Wow that's intense." Said Cory who goes and holds Lilly's hand tightly.

"Yeah I caught him at a wrong day and time. He did come here and apologize for his behavior and even brought me those flowers."

"Those are so beautiful and they even smell nice I bet he was truly sorry." I said as I look at the flowers and I smell them.

"Well I'm feeling better now so you guys can go home and don't worry about me I'm stronger than any average girl out there."

"I'll hold you up to that Lily." I said as I walk out of the room and smile, leaving Cory alone with her.

So I left the hospital and was walking to my house when I passed a nearby park. There was a man giving out a speech that was too good to be trusted. I decided to head over and listen to this joker. He did sound convincing but I could tell that he was lying by his too practiced movements. I am a very good people watcher and I can always tell when a person is lying.

"If you re-elect me as your mayor I promise to lead this town into prosperity."

Yeah right, I thought to myself, you're just saying that to get re-elected so you can have more drug dealers here. I keep my thoughts to myself but I found that inspiration that I was looking for. I was about to leave when the mayor looked rather funny.

BANG. A shot rang out and ripped through the mayor's chest. BANG. Another shot sounded off and this time it hit the mayor's head and his blood is splattered over the banner in the background. The mayor falls down on the platform, dead.

The crowd went nuts, screaming and running away. I just stood there in the chaos looking at the carnage that the assassin caused. The guy did need to be stopped but that was too much. Whoever did that, did it with excellent precision and nerves of steel.

Some of the people got trampled and some ran into random objects. I just stood there not really wanting to run or knowing what to do. I caught a glimpse of the stranger at the mall with a gun in his hands. I turned to face him and my courage waned thin. His eyes is what drew me to him.

"Is this your handy work?" I ask running to him to confront him.

He just stared at me blankly copying my stare.

"He may have deserved it, since he was corrupted but this is taking it too far." I said with anger in my voice.

"What are you my mother?" He said arrogantly.

"No, nor am I an undercover cop. I'm just a novelist looking for the right inspiration." I say trying not to panic.

"What is your name?"
