OK! The contest has ended. Sorry I haven't posted in a while but school was murder. The answer to the riddle that everyone couldn't guess is in this chapter. Only Saphire346 bothered to continue guessing even if it wasn't it.

Riddle Recap: "I'm going to gaze at the palace hall of stars. If you need to find me, please look for me at the place where the sky and stars clash to make a rainbow. If you can't find this place then check out that very old picture you keep stashed. If you still can't get it then wait at the plaza arena full of underground covering."

Story Recap: "They have us surrounded."

Mia POV

I can't believe that they could have a target so soon. I commend them on their communication network. I quickly gathered what I needed for my travel and hurried out the secret entrance. Don't ask how or why I have one but Daemon found it as I was gathering my supplies.

"Listen sweetheart they will try anything to get to us so if we do end up getting in a difficult situation I will always lead them away from you and you will make your escape."

"My hero," I said in a sarcastic voice, "anyway, don't call me sweetheart or I'll show you what this artisan can do."

"Will do now hurry up before they break down the door."

No sooner than I got down the secret passage with Daemon behind me the door busted open. Quietly Daemon closed the entrance to the passage and we slowly crept through it. This passage I found out was an old ventilation shaft that was just big enough for us to get in and move around smoothly.

"Careful sweetheart there are mice in here with us," Daemon whispered, "so don't scream."

"One thing Daemon," I whispered back, "mice don't scare me and if you don't stop calling me sweetheart I'll make you scream."

He didn't even have a comeback to that. So as we got closer to the end we heard voices. They were quiet but we heard them all the same.

"Listen boys don't go easy on the assassin. He may look like an "Average Joe" but he is stronger and wiser than any man you would know."

"Not when it comes to women." I said to myself

"Listen up now he supposedly has an accomplice but he apparently gave us the slip. Check every apartment level and whatever you do don't leave behind evidence to incriminate you."

"Yes Sir!"

He sounded familiar but I didn't have time to speculate. Soon we were at the grate at the end of the tunnel. It was screwed shut from the outside. Luckily no one was in front of it or we would have been caught.

"How are we supposed to get out?" I whispered in panic.

"Take this and cut the end of the screws off that you see. Then after that press lightly against the grate and then make sure that you don't let it fall down." He whispered back calmly.

I followed his instructions. I cut the screws with this hand held tool and made sure not to make too much noise but with the sound of doors being pried open drowned out the sound of me cutting the screws. I then gently pushed against the grate and it came loose but it nearly fell but I caught it before it could make a sound.

Daemon POV

After she finally got the grate off we hopped down to the ground, I grabbed her hand, and I nearly dragged her over to the trees near the complex. She was protesting but she kept up the pace. We got closer to an abandoned school house, that had windows broken and peeling paint, and I ducked by the rusty dumpster and dragged the girl behind me.

The mafia has their goons everywhere. They never cease to amaze me because they are really dumb yet they are still employed. When all of them went off towards another disturbance we raced to another cover point, inside the school. We raced throughout the school, jumping over toppled desks and running through abandoned classrooms.

We reached the other side where our destination lies beyond. I was about to make a break for it but the girl had to stop me.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"You want to get us caught?"

I didn't even see the thug behind the rusted, broken down, school bus.

"Sorry. By the way what was your name again?"

"It's Mia. Get it right the next time and he's moving so let's go."

We then were off again. A little while later I had to blind fold Mia so she wouldn't see a popular sight. The thing that I'm blinding her eyes for is this sexist monument that always rubs me the wrong way so I don't want to offend her. So we were on our way again.

"We're here Mia."

"Wow right next to the movie theater."

"Yep, home sweet home. Anyway this is my hometown so that's why I can go anywhere and find somewhere to hide. So come on inside."
