Recap: They were really a nuisance but the real situation is how to make Mia my salvation or my girl for that matter. I guess she really has a passion for what she does so innocently.
Mia POV
After my interview with the police, I was quickly losing patience. They all had to ask why I was still there at the scene of the crime. They also just had to ask if I was single or not. So I told them over and over, that I wasn't and boy did I make that mistake.
"You're not single?" Asked one officer.
"That's right so there is no use hiding it anymore." I said confirming it.
"Who's the lucky guy?" Asked a different officer.
"My friend's ex-boyfriend." I said remembering what Lilly wanted me to do.
"Isn't that against the friend code for girls?" Asked an officer who just joined the conversation.
"No, she was the one who wanted it." I said smiling.
"Wait a second," said Daemon who tried to talk. The police interrupted before he could say anymore. They did a search and they didn't find anything on me or on Daemon.
"Wait you didn't find anything on him?" Asked the first officer.
"Nope." Answered the second.
"I see, you're gonna get it when I get my hands on you." Said the third.
When the police finally left, I felt violated.
"They are so going to wish they were dead, if they weren't cops and if try to do something like that again." I say disgusted.
"I agree and I'm a man." Daemon agrees.
"Anyway so where did you put that gun of yours?" I ask as I look at him.
"I can manipulate it to move wherever I feel it needs to be." He says as he shrugs.
"That is just gross to imagine it." I say trying not to imagine it.
"Not as gross as you having a boyfriend." He says trying to tease me.
"You jealous of me?" I ask grudgingly.
"You never even had a boyfriend before." He said amused.
"How on Earth can you prove that Einstein?" I ask with bewilderment.
"From your conversation with your friend at the mall and the fact that I stole your first kiss." He says as he smiles at me.
"I don't kiss on the first date." I say blushing.
"No way, you're that old fashioned?" He asks in amazement.
"I don't kiss and tell." I say as I look away from him.
"Keep that policy you're going to need it." He says smiling at me.
"Yeah, sure, anyway, now with those pervs are gone I can finally go home and maybe get some work done." I say as I try to walk away.
"What exactly do you do?" He says as he follows me.
"That is none of your business and you know already but you just didn't put all the pieces together yet." I say angry at him.
Daemon POV
After she said that I could feel anger rushing through my veins. I mean cold, hard anger. This girl was actually pushing my buttons just to see when I would snap. A man can only handle so much. She was this close to making me pop.
"So so long and I hope I never see you again." She says as she starts to move away from me again.
I couldn't take this anymore. I pulled out my gun that did have bullets in it, since I carry two guns, and aimed directly at her heart."Move one more step and it will be your last." I say as I keep my aim on her heart.
She stopped and turned around. When she looked at me, she was almost like in a dream gaze.
"Countless hours, endless days, forever years spending in a senseless daze. You have yet to understand the significance of what it means." She says in a soft voice.
"You speak in riddles. Talk normally would you." I nearly yell at her.
"I don't fear death, though it's staring me right in the face. I have nothing to either lose nor gain by death. Neither do you boy."
"Hey, I happen to be a man. If you call me a boy one more time, I will shoot."
She walked closer to the gun pointing at her once more. She didn't lose that blank stare that she had on her. As soon as the gun was up against her heart, she stopped. She looked right into his eyes and stared.
"Now Daemon, tell me if you're now willing to do this witness in." She says as she presses harder into my gun.
I couldn't speak nor move. I was just standing there trying to figure out this girl before me. Her movements and speech baffles and bewilders me.
"I see you don't truly have it in you and I won't tell anyone, but I have one condition for staying silent."
I lowered my gun in defeat and said, "What is it?" My heart is beating rapidly with this girl's fiery words and actions.
"Become my next inspiration for my work, I've been searching for someone like you. If you accept, I'll pay you a good sum."
"Fine but I have other work to do you know." I say trying to calm down.
"Yes I know, so I was going to give you my number so that you can call me when you are available to work for me."
"Very well." I say as we exchange numbers.
"By the way I knew you wouldn't shoot."
"How did you know that I wouldn't?"
"You said so yourself that I was your salvation or destruction. Vis versa is also true but you said that you wanted salvation so that's how I knew."
"You say that like it is so easy to figure out." I say not knowing how she comes to these conclusions.
"I'm an excellent observer and I know what is what." She says confidently.
"What would have you done when I did shoot you?" I ask really wanting to hear her answer.
"I would have died and you would have followed. Sooner or later you would have."
I know now that being back in this town is really worth it after all.
