Chapter 6

~I changed the September to November on chap 4~

Jasmine's eyes fluttered open, she glanced around her, to see she was still in the car with Anthony. But now it was broad daylight outside. She sat up properly, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Sorry I fell asleep." She mumbled, rubbing her eyes a bit

"It's okay, I know you're pretty tired." He smiled, glancing at her for a sec "I bought take out while you were snoozing, you better eat something, we've been on the road for about 5 hours now."

"How long was I gone for?" She giggled slightly

"3 hours probably." He laughed. A cute 3 hours might I add, He thought to himself "We're nearing the end of Virginia, we might as well end the day around South Carolina."

"Wow that's fast." She smiled "You want to switch, so I drive and you rest?"

"Nah, its fine." He shook his head "Least thing I could do since I pulled you into this whole shenanigan."

"Yeah but I don't want to tire you out, and I agreed to do it, not that you reprimanded me to do so." She pointed out "Next gas station, we switch, so you can rest." She insisted

"Jasmine its fine." He smiled for her concern "I'll tell you when I can't handle."

She nodded, knowing no amount of persuading can convince him. She took out her phone, to see a text from her mom.

Mom 💕:
Hi Hun, your father and I are set flight to Miami later this afternoon, he has to meet up with a set. We'll probably be gone for a week. Sorry to not have told you sooner, take care Jasmine 😘

"Uh oh." She said, her eyes grew wider by every word she read from the text

"What's wrong?" Anthony asked

"Pops has a set meeting at Miami." She answered, typing back a reply

"Miami is a pretty big place, I'm pretty sure we won't run into them." Anthony chuckled

"But what if we do? And from there they'd ask me what I'm doing in Miami with you and your family, and-"

Jasmine panicked, but Anthony cut her off "Chill Jas, there's only a 5% chance we may see them."

"Anthony, I don't have a prepared explanation if they see us 'dating'." She protested

"Hey, I thought Mr. Ron and Ms. Kim liked me." Anthony pouted, to which Jazzy laughed

"They do." She said in between laughs "They just don't think I'd be dating anyone."

"Why not?" He asked curiously

"My last relationship was pretty rough, also didn't end well." She shrugged "But that was like 5 years ago, so, I pretty much forgot about it."

"How come I'm only knowing about this now?" He questioned

"Well, you never really asked." She replied "And what's the point of bringing it up anyway."

"Do Pips and Renee know?" He raised a brow

"Yeah, they used to ask about my dating life a lot." She nodded. Let's just say Pippa and Renee used to ask about Jasmine's dating life and tease her about Anthony

"Oh." Was all he managed to utter

"What about you? What was your old relationship like?" She asked him

"I dated a girl named Ana ~this is not real okay~, it was typical college love." He responded "She moved to LA when we graduated, while I stayed in New York. I went to visit her apartment once, only to find out she had cheated on me."

Jasmine frowned, listening to him keenly. How could someone do such a thing to him, she thought.

"I really thought she was going to be the one." He snorted "Was so wrong."

"Now I get why your mom is really taking this as such a big deal." She said softly "But pretending to her about an us is just wrong, Ant."

"I know." He mumbled, face looking disappointed of himself, where really he is just thinking how damn stupid he is for not asking her out, Jasmine noticed

She looked at him concerned and, without really meaning anything but for being supportive and not thinking this through, leaned in to him a bit and kissed his cheek.

His face turned to a deep shade of red, and stammered "What was that for?"

"I'll be here for you." She smiled "I always was and I'm not stopping now." She giggled

A huge grin grew on his face, he chuckled "How many times have I said thank you?"

"What are friends for?" She smiled

A friend. That word echoed through his mind. Indeed he was lucky to have her around.

It was already dark out. Both Jazzy and Anthony felt butt sore for having to sit in this car for hours. They reached South Carolina where, as they predicted, would stay the night at. Anthony drove to a hotel, leaving it for valet. He and Jasmine approached the front desk at the lobby, where sort of unexpectedly, a few people have recognized them.

"OH MY GOD ITS ANTHONY AND JASMINE!" One yelled

A combination of "The ones from Hamilton?" "I LOVE YOU GUYS" "CAN I TOUCH YOUR HAIR" "What are they doing here?" "Are they dating?" "JANTHONY" "I KNEW IT" filled the room as people started to run to them.

Security had to barricade a few away, and the manager had to talk to them somewhere more private.

"Sorry about the raucous there." Anthony said nervously, but the manager just smiled

"I'm a big fan of the musical myself, Mr. Ramos, Ms. Jones." He admitted "But that aside, how long will you two be staying?"

"Just the night, we're bound to Miami tomorrow." Jasmine replied, sighing in relief

"Honeymoon suite?" The manager asked, making the two blush uncontrollably

"No." They said in unison

"2 beds please." Anthony chuckled uncomfortably

The manager nodded his head slowly, grabbing some keys and handed it to them "You're luggage will be up in moments, you may now proceed to your room." The manager smiled

"Thank you." They, once again people, said in unison

They walked out the Manager's office, and Jasmine sighed "You okay Jas?" Anthony asked

"My ass is just so damn sore." She laughed, leaning against a wall

"I should actually be the one complaining, was awake for about 18 hours." He rolled his eyes, carrying her piggyback style

They went in the elevator, dropping off at the floor of their room. Jasmine swiped the card key, and as they entered, Anthony dripped her off on one of the beds.

"Ouch!" She screamed, arching her back, wincing to sit up "You could've dropped me off much gentler than that!"

Anthony burst out laughing. "Get some sleep Cephas-Jones."
