Chapter 9

Anthony walked up from behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, shocking her.

"Don't get too comfortable, Ramos. We're not really dating." Jasmine smirked, rolling her eyes

Yeah but let me savor this moment, he thought. But spoke "You get to wear my clothes as a pretend dating thing, let me act like a boyfriend." He whispered to her ear, his chin resting on her shoulder, his whispers sent shivers down her spine

"Touché." She giggled pushing him off, as much as she wanted to stay in that position with him, this was all just pretend "I'll go check on Steph, okay."

"Sure." Anthony sighed, watching her walk out the room, he badly wished this whole thing wasn't pretend

His phone buzzed in his pocket, getting it out, Lin's name flashed on the screen.

"Hey Lin, what's up?" He picked up

"Was just checking in on you and Jazzy, Twitter has been exploding non-stop." Lin chuckled

"Well we just got to Miami." Anthony responded, plopping down on the bed

"That's good." Lin said "Why not officially ask her to be your girlfriend there?"

"What do you mean?" Anthony stammered, trying to deny the truth

"Oh please son, I long knew you love her." He snorted, in between laughs

"Daveed or Oak?" Anthony groaned

"Both, plus Karla." Lin laughed, which annoyed Anthony more

"I don't want to ask her here, I want it to be special." He reasoned out

"Well sunsets at beaches are pretty cool aren't they?" Lin suggested "But you're better off asking someone like Pippa or Renee, I'm a little rusty on these stuff."

"I guess." Anthony, once again, sighed in hesitation

Jasmine reached the upper floor, where she saw Steph was entertaining her daughter, Tori. She smiled. Jasmine loves kids, she finds pregnancy to be scary, but worth it. She'd like to have kids of her own someday. Steph turned to see her.

"Hey there Jas." She smiled, setting the toy aside "Tori, do you remember auntie Jazzy?"

"Yeah." The toddler squealed, a big smile on her face, running up to Jazzy hugging her knees

"Hey there little one." Jasmine giggled, crouching down to her

"I can tell she likes you." Steph remarked, sitting down on the couch

"Oh yeah?" She raised a brow

"She can be quite a handful, when she likes someone, she's easier to deal with." Explained Steph, wiping some sweat off the toddler's forehead, Jas nodded

She played around with Tori, Steph watching over them. Stephanie knows how Anthony feels about Jasmine, she pushes him a lot to fess up, but her brother is too scared of rejection that he wouldn't even try.

"You got things sorted out with the whole set up you guys are going to do for my parents?" Steph asked

"Pretty much, yeah." Jasmine nodded in response

"Sorry he had dragged you into this mess, I tried talking to Mama, but she really wouldn't take my word for it." Steph exclaimed

"It's alright." Jasmine gave her an assuring smile "If it helps Anthony that I pretend to be his girlfriend for a week, then I'm okay with it."

Stephanie looked at her confused, she knows normally people would make a big fuss about such situation, but Jas was here saying it was okay. Her eyes lit up, realizing what she meant behind that sentence.

"You like my brother don't you?!" Stephanie whisper-yelled

"Quiet down, Tori is dying out for a nap." Jasmine shushed, pulling her to one of the rooms

"You freaking like my brother! Oh my gosh!" Stephanie squealed, making Jas flustered and incredibly embarrassed

"Quiet down." Jas tried to stop her

"Do you know how long he wanted to ask you out?! How many times I told him to go for it?!" Steph said, literally jumping up and down

"Stephanie stop please!" Jas yelled "Sorry for yelling, but Ant doesn't know, but I know he wanted to ask me out a few times."

"Then why not initiate the relationship yourself, Jas." Steph pointed out

"I'm 2 years older than Anthony, I don't want to rid him of his freedom, I'm pretty sure you're aware he goes out to bars about 2 times a week." Explained Jazzy, sighing as she sat beside Steph on the bed

"You're not going to rid him of anything, look, I feel like at your point of age you're looking for commitment and someone to settle down with. That guy can be my brother, he's only had like one girlfriend, which he had for about 4 years. And he always thought of settling down with her, he gave her some space for she said she needed to work on her career - and he did - but where'd that get him though." Steph explained to Jas "For all I know Anthony already loves you, like, ask Mario one time he didn't mention your name." Jas laughed

But she sighed "I don't know, he's still pretty young Steph, shouldn't I wait?"

"Well my brother has been waiting about a year to even ask you out on a date for ice cream, so I don't see why not." Steph responded sarcastically "Of course not! Like, when was your last relationship?"

"About 5 years ago." Jas replied "Didn't go any serious to where you think it would be."

Steph chuckled "Girl, do you want to grow into an old cat lady in New York?"

"If that's what awaits me." Jas joked, Steph rolling her eyes "I just want to let him be him for now."

"Well he's been like that for 25 years, I beg to differ what comes for him when he turns 30." Steph sighed, slightly giving up on persuading either of them to date "But look at me, 25 with a 2 year old and a husband. May have done it too early, but life's too short and you really get nothing if you only wait for it."

"Oh you did not just used a line from Hamilton on me." Jas and Steph laughed

"You're perfect for Anthony, and I'm sure you guys will be very happy with each other." Steph gushed

"Please don't tell him anything, I've been too good at hiding this for quite some time." Jas smiled

"And clearly my brother wasn't." Steph giggled

A few hours have gone by, Anthony's parents have come home, and they all gathered in the dining room for dinner.

"It's so wonderful to finally meet you Jasmine, you look more beautiful in person." Eveline gushed ~idk his parent's real names so let's go with Eveline and Ricardo~

"Anthony doesn't really talk about you much at home, but, I can tell he is quite fond of you." Rico ~short cut~ remarked

"We're just very happy our son has found love." Eve ~short cut~ smiled, Jasmine blushed

"Well I'm happy I found her." Anthony acted, as he placed an arm on her waist, sitting by each other at the table

"Funny story about our first day meeting each other though." Jas smirked at Anthony, who knew this wouldn't really go well
