About a week passes of normal classes.
"Ren. Where is Takeshi?" The headmistress walks up to Ren during lunch.
"I haven't seen him since class, why?" Ren looks back with slight worry hiding in her eyes.
"Don't worry about it." The headmistress rushes off. A few minutes pass and the intercom crackles alive.
"Immediately go to the safe room closest to your area. There is a monster in the building. I repeat, go to the safe room closest to your area. This is not a drill." It crackles then goes silent. A loud crash comes from the lunch courtyard's main
door leading inside and suddenly Kinu barges in, a large knife in his hand. Everyone freezes, trying to figure out how to escape considering he was blocking the only entrance back into the school that lead to a safe room.
"You're all going to pay." He growls as he starts to smirk. As he rolls his neck, a crackling noise fills the room, followed by a low grumble. Kinu makes his way towards the closest person near him, which happened to be Ren. She takes a few steps back before hitting her back against a tree. He walks up to her and holds the knife up to her neck.
"You're the closest to Takeshi. I'll kill you the slowest." Kinu growls with a big smirk.
"No, you won't touch her." A deep, inhuman growl comes from across the courtyard by a door. Ren lets out a gasp as her eyes meet with the voice's source. A tall male human-like creature with glowing green eyes, large feathered bird-like wings, and two large horns curving inwards on top of its head, a long dragon-like tail, long black hair, and long finger nails stares back at Ren.
"Now release her and let's settle this like the monsters we are." It growls, moving its eyes and looking at Kinu.
"So you decided to show. Wonderful." Kinu lets go of Ren then turns to face it.
"Bite me." It almost laughs.
"Will do." Kinu charges at it but it flies up into the air then flies back down and slams Kinu into the ground.
"I am a demon. How do you think you will win? Or is it just a
suicide mission?" It growls as it picks Kinu up and throws him across the courtyard.
"A demon against a clone. I decided to take my chances." Kinu laughs as he stands up and charges at it again. I uses Kinu's energy and flips him onto his back.
"Stop wasting your energy. It's a waste of your time." It growls before throwing him into the air then flying up and grabbing him.
"Move humans." As it looks down at all of the humans, they quickly move towards the edges of the courtyard.
"You waste my time. That's all you've ever done Kinu. I'm tired of you. It's your fault that you destroyed yourself." It quietly growls at Kinu.
"If you kill me, you and your human friends down there will all suffer." Kinu growls back.
"I'm protecting them. I'm not human, remember? I am nowhere close to being human. I never will be. They just don't know that." It growls before quickly flying towards the ground and slamming Kinu into the ground.
"You son of a...." Before Kinu could finish his sentence, it had sucked all of the blood out from his body by a bite on the neck. The headmistress suddenly runs into the courtyard and freezes in her tracks at the sight of it and the dead Kinu on the ground, It picks Kinu up by a leg then drags him over to the headmistress. As soon as it drops Kinu onto the ground in front of her, it takes off into the sky with its wings, leaving everyone completely shocked.
"I just wanted to check in on you. I was also wondering if Takeshi was here." Ren stood in the living room of Takeshi's house talking to Arhiyan.
"No, haven't seen him all day." As soon as Arhiyan speaks, Ren can hear the nervousness in her voice.
"Is it ok if I run upstairs to go to the bathroom?" Ren glances up the stairs and notices dim light creeping through the crack under Takeshi's door.
"Yeah sure." Arhiyan walks into the kitchen and starts to clean the already cleaned room as Ren makes her way up the stairs. Once she reaches the top of the stairs, she double checks that Arhiyan can't see her then makes her way towards Takeshi's room. She carefully cracks open the door only to be greeted by large, feathered black wings on the bed over something, kind of acting like a turtle shell.
"Takeshi?" Fear fills Ren as she quietly steps into the room and carefully closes the door behind her. A large growl mixed with a groan comes from underneath the turtle shell made of feathers.
"Takeshi... Is that you?" She takes a careful step towards the bed.
"Don't." A low growl comes from underneath the wings.
"Why not?" She takes another step towards the bed.
"I said not to. You don't want to see me. No one does." The wings move closer together.
"It's still you though Takeshi." By now, Ren was just guessing
that it was him.
"Ren, don't come any closer." A quick, sharp growl erupts.
"I want to help you." She dares to take another step closer to him. The wings begin to move and a boy with golden eyes and medium long, messy black hair gets off of the bed. "You're not..." Ren takes a quick step back away from him once she realizes that it isn't Takeshi. She notices a black marking on the side of his face as she takes another step back.
"He told you to leave. Why didn't you leave?" The boy growls. "You would've never known. You would've never seen me. You would've never known that I existed." He growls and takes a few steps towards her. She continues to step backwards until her back hits the wall.
"Please, I'm sorry. I... I just needed to talk to Takeshi..." Ren's voice nearly cracks as fear fills her body.
"Now I understand. It's your fault." He glares at her as his hands lightly twitch.
"What? What is?" Ren's eyes scan the room.
"Stupid human. You would never understand. You can't even realize who you are talking to." The boy growls before turning and walking back towards the bed.
"Takeshi!! Maiman is home!!" Arhiyan yells up the stairs, thinking that Ren was gone.
"Stay here." The black haired boy glares at Ren then rushes out of the room, his big, feathered wings barely hitting
anything on the way out.
"Oh the heavens smile on me." A girl with long white hair and red eyes stood at the bottom of the stairs.
"You're safe." The boy with black hair rushes down to her and pulls her close as Ren peeks down the stairs.
"A wolf is supposed to stay close to their master." The girl glares at the boy.
"I, had, things, to do." The boy looks away from her.
"Kinu, yes, I know." The girl rolls her eyes.
"He was a threat." The boy growls in response.
"When are you going to admit that you like that girl Takeshi?" Arhiyan yells from the kitchen.
"Whenever I have admitted it in my head." The boy growls back.
"You're weak, aren't you?" The girl gives the boy an annoyed look.
"That's why I haven't changed back." The boy glances at the stairs.
"You can have some of my energy." The girl rolls her eyes again then pulls the boy into a kiss. The boy's black hair slowly turns white and his wings slowly disappear. As he opens his eyes, they were no longer golden.
"There, that's my Takeshi." The girl smiles at the boy.
"I feel better being back." He smirks back.
"I'll be right back for dinner." The boy runs back up the stairs then to Takeshi's room.
"Takeshi." Ren could barely catch her breath from what she just witnessed.
"Ren. You saw, didn't you?" Takeshi stood in the doorway. "The boy, with black hair, was you, wasn't he?" Ren looks up and locks eyes with him.
"Yes." He breaks their eye contact.
"I just wanted to help. That's it." Ren looks out of the window. "You wouldn't be able to help unless you were willing to die." Takeshi walks into the room and closes the door behind him. "And the girl downstairs, that's Maiman?" Ren looks back over at him.
"Yes. She can change form, like me." He doesn't look back at her.
"You, you were the one who saved me from Kinu. That was you, right?" Ren walks up to him.
"Yes. That's why..." He begins to talk.
"You're so tired. I understand. Takeshi, thank you." Ren pulls him into a kiss after interrupting him.
"And whenever you plan on telling me about everything. From the beginning without any lies, I'll be able, and willing, to listen. I'd prefer you don't talk to me until then." She walks around him and opens the door.
"School break is coming soon, so, it shouldn't be that hard to not talk to me." She walks out of the room and out of the house.
"When were you planning on telling me that she was
listening?!" Takeshi screams from the top of the stairs after Ren leaves.
"When were you going to tell me that she could see you in human form?! Or is this new?" He runs down the stairs and growls at the girl with white hair who sat on the kitchen counter.
"Takeshi..." She lets out a long sigh.
"I don't want to hear it. You never understand. It's all lies." He growls then turns and runs out of the house, slamming the door behind him.
"Teenage boys." The girl growls with another long sigh.
"Why hello there." A boy Ren's age stands, leaning against a wall of a building.
"You must be Ren." The boy smirks and walks over to Ren as she continues to walk past him.
"Leave me alone." Ren growls.
"We should talk." The boy steps in front of her, his medium long, messy blonde hair slipping in front of his light brown eyes.
"I don't even know you, leave me alone." She growls and tries to walk around him.
"But I know you. Takeshi thinks about you a lot you know? More than he thinks about his little pet." The boy laughs and pushes Ren against a wall.
"Leave me the hell alone and let go of me. I'm done living with his stupid lies stuck in my head." Ren growls and tries to
escape his grasp but fails.
"What if I could tell you the truths to all of his lies?" The boy leans close to her face.
"Are you a demon or something? I don't want to make any deals." She glares at him.
"No. No deals. I just want to help you out." He smirks in response. One part of Ren wanted desperately to know the truth but the second part could care less.
"Here, I'll show you that there's no deals." His eyes sparkle. "He's not human. Not completely. And Maiman isn't completely a wolf. Their lives are lies." He smiles then lets go of Ren.
"Why should I trust you?" She growls.
"You saw everything. He wasn't human. When he fought Kinu. When he was in his room that you weren't supposed to go into. You saw Maiman as a human. The girl with long blonde hair was, is, her." He takes a step backwards away from Ren with an evil grin on his face.
"It's all the truth. If you want to know more, give me a call, or scream, or sacrifice, I don't care. The name is Ryland by the way." He winks then suddenly disappears.
"What the hell just happened?" Ren stares at where the boy had just stood.
"How should I trust what he told me? How am I supposed to believe him?" She mutters.
"You're not. You should, but you don't have to trust or believe me." The boy randomly appears next to Ren.
"Then why are you bothering with me?" She quickly turns and locks eyes with him.
"That's what he does. It's the only way he can get close to you." Takeshi's voice comes out of nowhere.
"Brother. Let's, not, start this. As much as I want to, I don't think your little girlfriend here would like to see you torn apart." The boy smirks at the sound of Takeshi's voice.
"I bet she could care less." Takeshi growls back.
"Awe, how cute. At least you know the truth." Ryland turns to face a large black werewolf with nearly glowing gold eyes. "Leave her alone." Takeshi's voice escapes the werewolf's mouth.
"You must really trust her Takeshi, she gets to see your werewolf form. And you let her see your demon form. Oh. And let's not forget about how she walked into your room and saw you basically naked. Just you in your original form. Your helpless, disgusting, original form." Ryland smirks and pulls Ren close to his chest, catching her off guard.
"I said, leave, her, alone!!" The werewolf loudly growls then lunges at Ryland. He drops Ren and disappears as soon as the werewolf clutches his shirt.
"Don't show her your killer side brother. It's not very pretty." Ryland chuckles from the roof of a building next to them then suddenly disappears and reappears with Ren in his arms on the roof.
"Take another step and she's no longer human." Large fangs
grow from Ryland's open mouth.
"You do that, and it'll be the last thing you've ever seen." The werewolf growls.
"Oh, well, no fun. I must go. Being a leader can be annoying." Ryland suddenly disappears, leaving Ren stumbling forward towards the edge of the roof. She trips, sending her flying off of the roof.
"Ren. Wake up. Please." Takeshi's voice fills Ren's ears. "Mhhh... What happened?" She slowly opens her eyes to see Takeshi standing over her.
"You fell asleep." He glances out the window.
"Don't lie to me. That's why I'm in this mess." Ren quickly growls at Takeshi.
"You fell off the roof and passed out as soon as I, I mean the werewolf, caught you in my arms, I mean, its arms." He doesn't look at her.
"So, you being in werewolf form, caught me when I fell off the roof, correct?" She looks over at him as she sits up on his bed.
"Yes." He looks down at the floor.
"Come here." She pats the bed next to her.
"What?" He looks up at her.
"We both need to sleep before tomorrow. Come here so we can sleep." She leans forward and grabs the collar of his shirt. "Plus, I need to say thank you, and show you that you can trust me." She pulls him onto the bed then crawls on top of
him.
"Ren..." Takeshi's eyes search Ren's.
"Shh. Don't make me change my mind. You know how I am." She leans in and kisses him on the lips. He carefully wraps his arms around her waist as they continue to kiss.
"Ren. You don't want to have anything to do with me." As Takeshi stops kissing her, he looks away.
"I do, otherwise I wouldn't be here." She grabs the collar of his shirt and pulls him back into another kiss.
"Takeshi!! Come down here for a second. I need you down here." Arhiyan's voice yells up the stairs. Takeshi slowly wakes up and looks around for Ren.
"Where's Ren?" He walks downstairs.
"Takeshi? What're you talking about?" Arhiyan looks over at him as he walks into the living room where she sat on one of the couches.
"Ren. She slept over last...." Takeshi's eyes meet Ember's and he quickly shuts up.
"Ma'am? May I ask what you are doing here?" He quickly stands up straight.
"You need to come with me." Ember stands up and walks to the door.
"Maiman will stay here. You will come with." She walks out of his house. Takeshi looks over at Arhiyan before he runs off after Ember.
"May I ask what's going on?" Takeshi jogs up to her.
"Assassin form activate." With Ember's three words, Takeshi freezes in his place. Large hand claws appear on his hands after he pulls off his shirt and puts on a hoodie. He throws the hood over his head and rolls his neck as black markings appear all over his body as his bandage wrappings fall off. He cracks his neck then gets quiet.
"Continue to follow me." Ember watches the whole transformation before turning and continuing to walk. They walk to the Church then walk inside. Takeshi doesn't say anything to May so she stays quiet. As soon as they reach a room after walking through lots of hallways, Ember closes the door behind her and Takeshi.
"I want you to meet my adopted daughter. She will be your partner for your next mission. Now, human form." Ember locks eyes with Takeshi and he turns back to his normal self. He rubs his head and Ember looks away from him.
"I'll leave you two to talk." Ember leaves the room.
"So, you're the Takeshi I hear everyone talking about." A girl's voice says behind him. He turns towards the voice and sees a girl with long silver hair and light green eyes sitting on a desk by a window.
"I honestly didn't think you'd be this cute." The girl walks over to him as she fixes her skin tight jumpsuit.
"I'm Eclipse, your new girlfriend." She smirks and pulls him close to her.
"What?" He looks at her with confusion.
"That's my role. I'm your girlfriend. And we get to go to school together." She smiles, making Takeshi's heart flutter.
"What the hell is going on?!" He takes a step away from her. "I already told you. I'm your girlfriend. I'm going to go to school with you. It's the role I play." She lets out a sigh. "Why?" He takes another step back.
"Because, Ember said so." She takes a step towards him. "We might as well figure out how to play the roles." She lets out a sigh and runs her hand through her hair.
"So, the longer it takes for us to get into these roles, the longer we're going to be in this room." She takes a step towards him as his back hits the wall.
"Fine. I still don't understand this though." His eyes lock with hers.
"Ember said to so that's what we do. We follow her rules. We have to follow her rules otherwise...." She gets quiet.
"Let's just get along, ok? Maybe something real will show up between us. You never know." She lightly smiles. Takeshi lets out a small sigh as his eyes land on her lips that were only inches away from his.
"Takeshi. I love that name." She leans close and her lips land on his. He pulls her close and kisses back, all of his anger, frustrations, and confusions slowly disappearing.
A knock on the door breaks their kisses.
"Come on in we're all cleaned up, on the details I mean." Eclipse laughs and steps back from Takeshi as the door
opens.
"Um. Ms. Ember asked that you two leave when you guys had made each other's acquaintances." May barely steps into the room as her voice stands almost at a whisper.
"Thanks... May." Takeshi tries to hide the awkwardness in his voice.
"Yeah." She turns and walks away.
"Well she's practically in love with you." Eclipse laughs.
"Thanks." Takeshi sighs then walks out of the room.
"Any time hottie." Eclipse laughs then follows him out of the building.
