When Jerome Meets Harley

Chapter 4.

Kitty and I walked down the streets of Gotham, when suddenly she freaked out a little and slowly turned around. I followed her, confused.

''What is it?'' I asked.

''Gordon,'' She said, simply.

''Gordon? Gordon who?'' I asked.

''Detective Gordon,'' She replied.

''Why are we running from him?'' I asked. ''Or well, walking from him.'' I corrected.

''Petty theft charges, no biggie.'' She shrugged.

''Well, turn around and take it like a man....or a woman in this case. He won't arrest you, apparently he never does anyway, right?'' I encouraged.

''Well I guess.'' She said.

I smiled. ''See? It's fine. Just ignore him. I'm sure he's busy anyway, like you said it's Gotham.'' I reassured.

We began walking back in that direction. Luckily Gordon didn't even notice Kitty, he was to busy chatting with a guy in a fedora.

We made our way to wherever we were going. I'm not even gonna ask this time. She can lead and I'll just follow. We ran into a small girl with messy red hair.

''Hello Ivy,'' Selina said, looking a bit uncomfortable.

''Hey Selina,'' She greeted back. Then she looked at me.

''Hi, I'm Harley.'' I said, holding out my hand. Like Selina did, she eyed my hand like it was a weapon, but eventually shook it.

''I'm Ivy,'' She said.

I smiled politely. ''Nice to meet ya!'' I said.

She looked a bit creeped out by my bubbly attitude. But I smiled anyway.

''Where are you headed to, Ivy?'' Selina asked.

''To check on the mushrooms.'' She said nonchalantly. Well okay then.

Selina nodded. ''Well see you later, Ivy! We got some things to do!'' Selina said, pulling me away from the redheaded child.

She released me as we got further away. ''Why were we powerwalking?'' I asked.

''Ivy creeps me out.'' She explained.

''Well, I think I creeped her out if it makes you feel any better.'' I said. She smirked.

We were standing in front of a giant mansion. ''Whoa,'' I said.

''Yeah,'' Selina nodded. She went to climb the huge gate. I just stared at her.

''Well, you coming?'' She asked, perched on the gate, like a cat.

''Seriously? Why do you always have to climb things?'' I questioned.

She laughed and jumped down on the opposite side of the gate. I groaned and climbed it myself.

We made our way up to the door. I went to knock, but Selina stopped me. ''I don't knock.'' She said, gesturing to the window.

I rolled my eyes. ''Of course you don't.'' I mocked.

We quietly went through the window, I knocked off a fancy expensive looking vase, but caught it before it shattered all over the hardwood floor. Selina mouthed 'smooth' at me. I rolled my eyes.

Suddenly a boy came in, he was so focused on reading a book, that he didn't notice us. ''Hi Selina,'' He said, still not looking up. What is he, a spy?

Then he looked up and noticed me. ''Oh, hello.'' He said surprised. He looked confused as to why another girl was there, apparently he is used to Selina coming and going as she pleases, alone.

''Hi! I'm Harley Quinn.'' I said, smiling. I held my hand out and he grasped it.

''Bruce Wayne. It's nice to meet you, Harley.'' He said politely. Oh, so this is Bruce. Well duh, of course it is, Harley! Which means I'm in Wayne manor right now. Damn.

''Got anything to eat?'' Selina said.

Bruce nodded and chuckled. ''Let me get Alfred to make you two some tea and a sandwich. Follow me.'' Bruce said. We followed him down a long hallway. We made our way into a kitchen and was met with an older man.

''Alfred, would you put on pot of tea, please? And perhaps some lunch?'' Bruce asked.

The man-Alfred-looked up and noticed us. He looked at me confused. ''Selina,'' He said. She nodded. ''And you are?'' He questioned.

''Harley Quinn.'' I said and we shook hands.

After awhile of chatting and eating with Bruce and Alfred, Selina brought up something else. ''Harley told me something interesting.'' She said.

I looked at her confused. I did? ''What is it?'' Bruce asked.

''Remember the deranged redhead that tried to slice you open?''
