The summer is done. The breeze is colder and the leaves are turning into yellow. Pretty soon they’ll all fall off the tree. Streets are not that busy anymore. The youngsters are in school instead of hanging around the city.
Sophie and Ella goes in the same school but different classes. Ella is a freshman and she’s taking Science. Sophie too but she’s a year older so she’s a sophomore. They’ve known each other since their diaper days. Their moms are best friends.
Anya goes to another school. She’s the same age as Ella but she started school a bit late so she’s not in high school yet. Ella and Sophie met Anya when they were around 13 years old when they went to same dance class. Since then they all became like sisters.
Months of school, dance, school and more dance, Sophie has been really busy. But one thought remained in her mind - Ulrik.
April 29! It’s Anya’s birthday and so the three best friends are celebrating. Since it’s Friday meaning it’s school during the day, they’re having a slumber party instead. They’re having it in Sophie’s place. She has the biggest room in all three of them.
PJ’s are on and pillow and comforters are across the whole room. It’s gonna be a sleepless night for sure. You can hear the voices of the girls are coming closer to the room. They just came from the kitchen to get some snacks. Anya puts some random cd on the cd player and starts dancing and goofing. Ella is putting some chips in the bowl.
”Hey Ella! Are you always hungry?” Anya said.
”As if you’re not used to it.” Ella laughed. ”Where is Sophie by the way?”
Anya stopped dancing and shrugged. Ella does a hushing gesture and starts tip toe-ing to the other side of the big shelf in the room. Anya follows her. Sophie is sitting in the sofa all quiet.
”Boo!” the two girls both screamed and jump at Sophie.
”Where’s the party spirit?”
”Anya catch!” Ella throws an imaginary something to Anya. ”Put it on. We might DROWN.”
”Oh...! ..Yeah! Sophie is thinking really DEEP.”
Sophie smiles. ”You guys! I’m back to planet Earth..sorry..”
Ella and Anya takes Sophie’s hands and pulled her up. ”Come on let’s dance. Loosen up a little.”
They dance around with big smiles on their faces.
The music then change to the next track. ”Have you ever done something you can’t change something? You can never rearrange?”
The girls put their hands on their chests all dramatically and sings a long. ”I have! I have!” Anya goes forward and faces Sophie. She plays her air guitar. Ella joins her as she pretends to be holding a microphone. ”Boys don’t crahh ha ha ha haaa haaa ha ha hay...” she sings exaggeratedly. Sophie stands there shaking her head till the song ends.
”What was that all about?!” Sophie said.
Anya puts her arm around Ella and says ”Hey Sophie, you look really familiar. Have we met before?” in a kind of deep voice.
Ella does a very light voice and says ”Uhm..I dunno Ulrik but maybe you were my prince in my earlier life. You know once upon a time a long ago?”
”Perhaps. Now my princess shall we dance?” Anya courtesy.
”Sure.” Ella takes Anya’s hand and they both dance the waltz in a goofy way.
”HAHA! Very funny!” Sophie said loudly and sarcastically.
”Oh come one Sophie! You’re crazy about him. You watch his videos all the time, and keep on thinking about him.” Ella teases.
”You’re obsess Sophie.” Anya added.
”Great! Two against one.” Sophie said while she turns off the stereo.
They all sit on the sofa.
”Look...it’s been almost a year since the last time you and Ulrik met each other. Things has changed and he probably don’t remember you anymore.” Anya said.
”Don’t get us wrong. We’re telling you this as a friend. Maybe it’s time for you to let go of that thought.” Ella continued.
”What thought?” Sophie said confused.
”That he’s your soulmate.” Anya laughed. ”No I’m just kidding but seriously when you both think that you looked familiar for each other probably doesn’t mean anything.”
”Yeah maybe but I just really have to ask him.” Sophie said.
Ella jumped off the sofa screamed ”Enough boy talk....now FOOD time!”
Anya and Sophie laugh, roll their eyes while shaking their heads and says ”Ella and her foods!”
