Today is the second chance. Everything seems to be going perfectly. The weather is great. It’s finally starting to feel like summer. Sophie has put on her favorite casual dress. It’s light blue and has dark blue floral prints on it. She throws on some short sleeved kind of cardigan and some sandals. She ties her long hair to a low side ponytail just like the way she always wear her hair. She picks her phone up to call Ella and Anya that she’s ready. But she sees that she got a text message from both of them.
The one from Ella says:
I can’t come today. I’m really sorry but I have to help dad in the shop. Sorry! :(
And the one from Anya says:
I’m really sorry Sophie but I woke up and isn’t feeling well at all. I’ve been vomiting since this morning. I’m sorry...:(
”Oh no!” Sophie’s voice can be heard through the entire house.
Her mom comes rushing down. ”What’s the matter sweetie?”
”Both Ella and Anya can’t come with me today. Anya is sick and Ella is working.”
”Is Anya okay?” her mom worries.
”Not really but she’ll be fine...hopefully.” Sophie looks down to her side. She then look up again. ”But mom how about today’s plan?”
”Well if your friends can’t go, you either go by yourself or you go to Ella and help her instead....or you can go visit Anya.” her mom suggested.
”But I have to go to Kungsbacka.”
”HAVE to?”
”Long story...”
”Well what’s the problem then?”
Sophie wrinkles her nose.
”Just make up your mind. You’re old enough. Make your own decisions.” her mom smiled
Sophie just smiled back and nodded.
She decided to go by herself to Kungsbacka to watch and meet Ulrik again. It’s the first time Sophie has been there and has no clue where she was going but luckily she didn’t get lost. She came an hour earlier before the show starts because she was afraid to stand too far from the stage again just like in Liseberg. When she came there it felt like no show is about to happen. She got really unsure if she was on the right place so she went out and the building sign do say ”Kungsmässan”.
Walking around the mall all confused and nervous Sophie hears an announcement from the speaker.
Today we have 50% sale on H&M, Buy 1 take 1 for all shirts in Dressman and in less than an hour there will be some live music at the stage near the main entrance.
Sophie sighed. She’s in the right place at the right time after all. She went back to the stage and some girls are there but it felt like it wouldn’t be as much as it was in Liseberg. More people come when Ulrik comes up on stage. It was an awesome show. He sounded a bit tired though. Well he has been playing on gigs pretty much the whole week.
After the show was same routine. It’s autograph signing. The staff said that those who will buy the single gets to be first in line. Sophie buys one even if she already have one. There she is all shaky and sweaty...well at least her hands.
”Why am nervous. Geez Sophie! Just chill!” she thought
”Hi Sophie! Want me to sign that?” Ulrik said while pointing at the cd Sophie is hugging.
”Huh?” she said sounding all scared and nervous and looked at where Ulrik is pointing. ”Oh!” she gives the cd to Ulrik and said ”Yes Please....Wait! You said my name? Why do you know it?”
”You told me the last time we met.” he said while writing his autograph.
”You remember it?”
”Of course I’ve been thinking about you...” he realizes how creepy that sounded so he immediately said ”I mean I’ve been wondering about what you said. That I also looked familiar to you the first time we met.” he gives the cd back to Sophie.
”I was thinking about the same thing. I was wondering if you know why?”
”No...I was hoping YOU know why.”
”What? How can I know why?”
”I don’t know what makes you think I know why?”
The place was crowded. Music and chattering noises is what you hear but it suddenly seemed so quiet and like everyone was staring when the blonde short lady behind Ulrik speaks to Sophie.
”I have no clue what you two are talking about but please...the line is long and we don’t have plenty of time.”
”I’m sorry...” Sophie said to the lady before she left.
So Sophie had to leave again. After that meeting she just thought that maybe everything was just a weird coincidence. Ulrik thought the same.
