The summer passed by again. For Ulrik it has been really busy. He had shows everywhere. He got more TV guesting and radio interviews. The likes on his official Facebook fan page and the number of his followers on twitter keep on increasing. He even got nominated for two awards. His career is getting better and better. For Sophie it has been fun too. She went to lots of Ulrik gigs and met new friends. Of course the dancing and all other fun activities with Ella and Anya were part of her summer too.
It’s now August 24. Both Sophie and Ulrik are really excited...plus lots of other people. Ulrik’s debut album will be released today! He’ll be signing CDs in a CD store somewhere in the city today. Sophie is of course present. She went there directly after school. She’s the first in line. All the song is being played in the shop so the waiting isn’t really boring. One and a half hour later Ulrik finally arrived.
”Hi Sophie!” Ulrik greeted Sophie with a smile.
Sophie smiled back and handed her cd. At the same time she was thinking ”Why does he keeps on doing that? Just stop saying my name with that beautiful smile every time you see me....oh no! Who am I kidding! I love it!”
Sophie said thanks as she takes her CD back and left with a smile.
She doesn’t even talk to him at the autograph signings anymore...she’s been told to leave a couple of times already. She finds it awkward so she just tries not to talk to him even if that’s all she wants to do.
Sitting on the bus home Sophie opens her cd and sees the picture of that beautiful boy wearing his hat or cap. The smile on his face can make most girls melt. It says ”Ulrik” in his notable cursive handwriting...and a smiley too. Sophie was shocked when she realizes what the numbers under the signature are.
”No way!” she closed the cd and put her hands over her mouth preventing it scream or laugh or do some weird noises.
She pulls her phone from her pocket. She opens the cd again and starts typing the number to her phone. She then types ”Ulrik Munther” and saves it. Sophie couldn’t believe that Ulrik just gave her his phone number.
”Is this really his number? Maybe he’s just pulling my leg. I’m just a fan. I know we had a quite interesting start but still...” Sophie thought repeatedly over and over until the night.
Miles from her room, Ulrik lays on his bed. He holds his phone and just stares at it.
”What am I doing? Why would she call me? I mean she’s my fan but I probably scared her...” he thought.
Then his phone rings. He gets scared and the phone falls on his face. He grabbed it off his face laughing and answered the phone without looking who it was.
”Hello!” he answered while still laughing a bit. ”Hello?”
The caller hanged up.
”What’s with the laughing? Was it even him? Should I call again” Sophie asked herself and on her way to press that green phone button on her phone again but she stops and said ”Don’t you dare press that button!”
”I must be going nuts! I’m talking to myself!” she thought.
Her phone rings.
”Oh my God! He’s calling! What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? Hello?” she said carefully when she pressed answer.
”Hello! Sophie?” Ulrik said.
”Yes...?”
”Oh it IS you.”
”Uhm...why did you give me your number? It’s not that I don’t want to have it or anything it’s just that...I’m starting to babble right? Sorry...”
”Look I just want to talk to you. I didn’t mean to scare you or anything.”
Sophie didn’t reply but Ulrik could hear she’s still there.
”Do you want to meet sometime?” he asked her.
It was silent for a few seconds but then Sophie said ”Sure. Why not.” after she took a deep breathe.
”This Saturday?”
”I have dance practice...” Sophie bites her lip thinking how stupid she is for saying what she just said.
”Oh so you dance? That’s cool...” he got distracted but continued ”Well I’m free from Saturday until next Wednesday.”
”Can I just text you when I can? School just started and I don’t know my schedule yet.” she said and she closed her fist tightly again thinking why she said that.
”Yeah sure.”
”Uhm..ok...bye!” Sophie hanged up.
She takes a pillow and hits herself with it.
”How dork can you be when you’re talking to the cutest guy celebrity on your phone when he asks you to meet him? Sophie you’re so stupid! You could’ve just said yes for Saturday. You didn’t even ask what time...you’re not going to spend your whole Saturday dancing! Great! I’m talking to myself...I’m officially a dork!”
Ulrik looks at his phone and smiles.
