Okay guys, this is the chapter you've all been waiting for, because for some reason unbeknownst to me, whenever I have anything good I can never manage to keep it (which is the whole reason this story even exists). So get ready because we're about to circle back to the beginning, but this time, thanks to my amazing storytelling skills, you'll get to try it with a little resentment.

(^ wow I feel really fancy. Squiggly lines and shit)

Anywho, so today started off pretty regularly—well actually, today started off pretty fucking amazingly. Since it's Sunday and I have virtually nothing to do on Sundays, I decided that I would surprise Caroline.

Now this is big for me since I've never gone over to her place without one of us calling first and asking if that was on the table. Caroline's like that old king from the bible that doesn't let anyone have an audience with him uninvited. So yeah, this was a risk. Nevertheless, at this point I figured I really had nothing to lose because we had been doing this...whatever this was, for nearly two months. If going to visit her spontaneously ended things, then honestly this wasn't going anywhere, and I was really in it for a future.

Hadn't told Caroline that yet, but either way, I was still very strung.

So this morning, I went out to buy m'lady some breakfast from The Alley (a bakery a few blocks down from where we lived) so that I could bring it to her while she was still waking up.

I don't know why I thought she'd be one to sleep in, or one to eat bakery food but I was doubly wrong.

When I arrived at her door holding a bag of croissants in one hand and a tray of coffee in the other, I knocked a few times but there was no answer. Right as I was about to give up though, I saw her walking down the hall towards me with earphones on, no shirt in sight, and the most godlike lines of sweat dripping down her body.

It was very clear from that plus the black sneakers and sports bra she had on that she had just come back from working out.

She's a model, Jeremy! Duh.

And when she looked up and saw me standing outside her door, she frowned and it made me smile.

It wasn't an unhappy frown, just a confused one.

"Hey," I said. "I brought you breakfast."

She walked up to me and took a look at what I had in either hand before scoffing and turning to unlock her door.

She entered her apartment and I just stood there, not sure whether that scoff meant 'leave' or 'that's cute'.

When she saw me still standing outside her door, she turned around and raised an eyebrow. "Are you coming?"

"Hell yeah." I grinned, following her inside and closing the door behind me. I walked over to the little kitchen and set the things down on the counter. "I got croissants and coffee," I said, watching her as she downed a glass of water, refilled it, and then downed another.

She let out a breath as she set the glass down and looked at me. "I'm gonna take a shower," she said, pointing to her little marble-top dining table that sat in front of the balcony doors. "You can sit there if you want to."

I smiled at her again and she gave me an 'are you okay?' look before sighing, smiling, and heading back towards the bathroom.

Okay, so this really may not seem like much to you guys, but at that moment I was hollering inside. Caroline and I had never hung out before without the intention of sex, and right then, I wasn't in the mood. I didn't think she was either, and that meant that we were going to sit and eat breakfast and just talk.
