CHAPTER 3

Everything was going so well until Ajay's parents got to know about our relationship. It was one fine Sunday morning as we having our usual morning brunch and watching our favourite web series. The door bell rang. I opened the door to my surprise I saw Ajay's parents. I greeted them and asked them to come in. They were Very much in shock when they met me. I was Very Happy to meet them for the Very first time. Ajay's introduced me to his parents and they were not in the position to understand our relationship to any extent. I didn't know what to do. I stood quite as Ajay explained his love for me to his parents. But that was unnoticed by his parents. His parents were not ready to accept our relationship. Ajay tried his level best that day to convince them to accept me. But every word he spoke was rebutted by his parents. He loved me the most and I was able to see it in his eyes. He loved me so truly that he was ready to go against his parents for me. I stood in tears as he told that to his parents.

I knew that this was not the right time to live with Ajay in his apartment. I decided to move back to my apartment during Ajay's parents stay at his apartment. Weeks passed, Ajay didn't come to office nor answered my calls nor replied to my texts. I didn't understand what was happening with him. Later that day I heard from the clerk that Ajay has resigned his job and left a letter for me. I really didn't understand what was happening around me at that point of time. I drove my car with great speed and reached Ajay's apartment. It was looked. I enquired Mrs. Anu who was the owner of the apartment about Ajay and she said that he left to Delhi with his parents. I still didn't understand why Ajay didn't tell me anything.

I drove back home and thought about it for a while and I knew that my Ajay wouldn't do anything that would hurt me. At that point of time, I was reminded of the letter which was given to me by the clerk in the office. It was in my car. As I left office I carried it and dropped it in the dashboard. I ran down to get the letter and read it. As I opened the car I knew that there is gonna be something special in the letter and took it to my apartment and opened it with the greatest joy to see what my love of my life had left for me.

As I started reading the letter my heart broke, my chest  tightened when I read every word in the letter. I cried so hard that night than ever before. The letter stated that Ajay was going to get married to his father's friend's daughter for the company his future father in law owned. I crashed completely. I trusted, believed and loved Ajay a lot but I didn't know he would do this to me. In the letter he also stated that he had taken this step for the welfare of my life. I wanted to scream out and tell him that he was my life and I loved him to the core. I broke down completely. I gave up on all things and resigned my job too. I had saved money as I was working so with that I shifted to Bombay.
