Khayri took off running. She followed the bobbing curly brown head through the crowd of players. It took a left turn into an alley. Khayri followed it but when she reached the alley there wasn't anything there. Her heart fell. She thought she had found him.
"Kyria?"
Khayri turned around at the sound of her gamer name and gasped.
"Akira" she breathed. She ran to him and jumped into his arms. He smiled and grabbed her waist and spun her in a circle. She giggled as he set her down. She looked up at his face. One of his brown curls hung down into his face. His blue eyes sparkled happily down at her. He was tall and wearing a blue shirt with similar armor to hers on his chest. He was wearing baggy cargo pants tucked into tall boots. He had a one handed sword at his side.
"I'm so glad I found you" he said," with all these people here it's hard to find anybody."
"Yeah" She replied.
Suddenly, the world around her turned white, then disappeared. She blinked the white out of her eyes and looked around. She was back at the main plaza in the Town of Beginnings.
"Wha-" she gasped. Then something pulled at her hand. She looked down and saw that Akira had grabbed her hand before they teleported.
"What are we doing back here?" He asked.
" I don't know."Kyria responded
(((((A.N I'm going to refer to Khayri as Kyria, her gamer name, while she's in the game.)))))
All of a sudden, the sky started to turn red with hexagons all across it. They read "Warning". Then the words changed to read "System Announcement". Red goop started to fall out of the cracks and collect to make a form above the large tower. A large figure started to take shape. It was large and seemed to be covered in a large cloak. It had no face.
"The game master," some one whispered behind them.
Then the thing spoke:
""Attention Players," The GM said, "Welcome to my world. My name is Kayaba Akihiko, as of this moment, I am the sole person can control this world. I'm sure you've already noticed that the log out button is missing from the main menu," Akihiko said, "This is not a defect in the game, I repeat, this is not a defect. It is a feature of Sword Art Online. You cannot log out of SAO yourselves, and no one on the outside can shut down or remove the Nerve Gear." Kyria glanced nervously at Akira.
"Is he telling the truth?" She asked. Akira opened the main menu and looked at the place the log out button should've been.
" There's no log out button. He's telling the truth." He looked up from the menu with worried eyes.
Akihiko continued, "Should this be attempted, the transmitter inside the Nerve Gear will emit a powerful microwave, destroying your brain and thus ending your life. Unfortunately, several players' friends and families have ignored this warning, and attempted to remove the Nerve Gear." Akihiko said, "as a result, two-hundred and Thirteen players are gone forever both from Aincrad and the real world."
Akira squeezed Kyria's hand. She looked up at him and saw fear in his eyes. this worried her even more.
"As you can see, News Organizations across the world are reporting all of this, including the deaths. Thus you can assume the danger of a Nerve Gear being removed is now minimal. I hope you will relax and attempt to clear the game, but I want you to remember this clearly. There is no longer any method to revive someone within the game. If your HP drops to zero, your avatar will be forever lost, and simultaneously, the Nerve Gear will destroy your brain. There is only one means of escape, to complete the game." Akihiko continued, "You are presently on the lowest floor of Aincrad, Floor 1, if you make your way through the dungeon and defeat the floor boss, then you may advance to the next level. Defeat the final boss on floor 100 and you will clear the game."
Floor 100! Kyria had only made it to floor 11 in the 3 month long Beta test. And to make it there with out dying! It's impossible.
"Finally, I have added a present from me to your item storage. Please see for yourselves."
Kyria opened her inventory and saw the item. She activated it and a mirror dropped into her hand. She looked into and saw her character's face, then it changed and she saw her real face. A light shot out of the mirror and enveloped her.
When she could see again the people around her looked much different. People were no longer their characters. They looked like themselves.
Kyria turned and looked at Akira. He was a little shorter but other wise looked the same, until he looked at her. He still had his curly brown hair but his eyes, his eyes were a deep green with a light brown around his pupil. They were even more amazing than his blue eyes were. He also was staring at her in amazement.
"Kyria, I-" but he was interrupted by Akihiko,"Right now, you're probably wondering, 'Why?' Why would Kayaba Akihiko, Creator of Sword Art Online and the Nerve Gear do all this? I created Sword Art Online for one reason, to create this world and intervene in it. And now it is complete. This ends the tutorial for the official Sword Art Online launch, good luck, players."
A stunned silence followed the end of his speech and the sky turned back to blue. Akira turned to Kyria. His eyes still startled her.
"Kyria, how are you feeling?"
"Haha" she laughed," it's just like you to worry about me and not about yourself. I'm fine how are you?"
"I-you-I'm good but you, you look amazing" he stuttered. Kyria blushed. She looked away. She saw a broken chard of glass on the ground. She saw her long caramel colored hair lightly waved hanging around her shoulders. Her eyes a bright light blue, almost white but with a hint of blue, like ice.
"What should we do?" He asked.
"We have to complete the game. You heard Akihiko." She replied.
"Well let's go then" he replied and took her hand. They turned and walked out of the plaza towards the exit of the Town of Beginning.
