"Peter, put on your shirt and quietly open the window." he looked down at me in confusion. "Now." I urged him. So he got off of me and put on his shirt.
I went to my closet, chose some clothes at random. Some pants there, a shirt here, anything I could wear and jammed it in my bag that was in the back of my closet.
When I went to the window, Peter opened it as quietly as he could.
Once it was fully opened, I looked at him. "Look, here's the plan, I don't know why, but my parents are back. So sooner or later they'll see our bags and they'll come rushing upstairs."
When I finished my sentence, as if on cue, I heard footsteps coming up.
"Just jump down, we aren't that high up, I've done it plenty of times, and I never got hurt, okay?" he nodded and put one leg outside.
Then my door swung open, and my dad was there.
"JUMP!" I ordered, and he did.
Then I jumped out with my bag on my shoulders before my dad could catch me. For a second, it felt like if I was flying, but then my feet smacked into the grass and I had to take a few steps to steady myself.
When I looked back over my shoulder, Peter was standing on his feet with a smile on his face.
"Landed on your feet?"
"Yup."
"Great, now come on; let’s go before he catches us." I grabbed onto Peter's hand and started sprinting toward the road.
"But my bag? It's still ins-"
I cut him off by saying; "We'll get it later, promise, now come on!"
I heard the front door shut close and footsteps running after us.
"Florence! Get back here right now!" Sebastian yelled after me.
"No, I hate you and I never want to see you again!" I tightened my grip on Peter's hand and started to run even faster.
There was only 3 blocks left until we arrived at his house.
2 blocks.
1 block.
"Turn here." I ordered Peter.
I knew a shortcut to his house were we could lose my dad. We both cut into an alley and ran all the way until the next road.
"My house is there, come on." Peter and I both did a beeline to his house and slammed the door shut, locking it behind us.
He looked down at me, and I looked back up at him. Both our backs pressed to the door, and I started laughing, so did he. We didn't know why we were laughing, but it felt good. I laughed even more, my chest started hurting that I had to clutch my side.
For a minute or so, all we did was laugh, but we started to calm down after.
"When are we going to go get my bag? There was something important in it." he told me.
What was in the bag that was so important? His books? His homework? We were going to leave in 2 weeks to the Dauntless Headquarters, it didn't really matter anymore, at least, that's what I thought.
After a moment of thinking of how we could go get it, I said, "How about tonight, when we know everyone will be asleep, we'll go back to my place and get it?"
"I'm not sure, I mean, your dad seemed pretty determined to hurt us, and he is way stronger than I am."
"Uhh," I took a moment to think of something better, "How about Molly and Drew come with us? It would be 4 against 1, fair enough." I smirked.
