“Florence,” someone shook me from my deep and highly needed slumber. I only groaned and rolled onto my side to fall back asleep and to forget the pounding in my head. “Florence,” the same person shook me again, harder this time but still, I just groaned. This person better stop bugging me or I will murder them even with these lumberjacks having a party in my skull. Fortunately, I heard the person’s footsteps disappear into the distance and I could finally fall back asleep. At least, that’s what I thought before I felt freezing cold water splash onto my face.

“WHAT THE HECK!” I screamed as I jumped up. I quickly wiped the water out of my eyes and glared at the person who dared to wake me up like this. To my surprise, it was Eric who was standing there, holding an empty jar which I’m guessing was holding the water. “What do you want?” I grumbled, rubbing the sleep from my eyes because obviously, I wouldn’t be getting any more sleep.

“Get up right now or we’re going to be late,” he instructed, a hint of amusement snaking its way into his voice as he looked at me, dripping wet.

“Late for what?” I asked, getting more annoyed by the second.

“For stage two of initiation,” he stated.

That’s all that I needed to hear before I jumped out from my sleeping position on the ground, completely forgetting about my massive headache and almost tripping on the laying form of someone at my feet. With all the alcohol I consumed last night, I completely forgot about initiation. Eric hadn’t helped me much either as he’s the one who kept me up until four in the morning doing shots and what not.

“What time is it?” I demanded, quickly grabbing my shoes from the ground and putting them on. I looked around the room of sleeping bodies that were scattered around. In the corner, Drew was leaning against the wall with Molly’s head lying on his lap; both of them were sound asleep.

“It’s seven fifty-four,”

My heart froze at his words. I was going to be in so much trouble with Four. Why did I even agree to come to this stupid party in the first place?

I took a deep breath to calm down and I quickly but carefully made my way to my two friends who were still currently sleeping. I kicked Drew’s leg and he quickly woke up. In his waking, he woke up Molly in the process.

“Get up, guys, we have to get to initiation,” I urged loud enough for them to hear. Just like what happened to me, they both quickly got up, stumbling over each other to grab some of their stuff.

While they were getting ready, I walked back to Eric. “Where’s Peter, he’s not here,” I said, double checking the sleeping faces to make sure that I had not missed him by accident.

“I already woke him up, he’s waiting for you guys in the compound with your breakfast,” he told me. Once Molly and Drew came up behind me, he nodded and started jogging towards the doorway and we followed him out of the door and into the crispy morning air.

It was 8:01 when we entered the room where we had sat in yesterday when we waited for our names to be called. Four was standing in the middle of the room, looking extremely displeased with us being late.

“Glad you could join us, guys. Is there a reason why you’re all late?” Malice laced its way into his words, making him even more intimidating then he already was.

“Eh…” I started to say but I let my voice trail on. What was I supposed to say? That we were at a party last night and completely forgot about initiation? That we all had the biggest headaches in the world of headaches due to all the alcohol we consumed? I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t roll by Four very nicely.
