Well practice was surely something today. Thank goodness I didn't get too much grief for not having my solo picked yet. After everyone left I got into my car and headed to the boy's flat, since I did promise I'd come visit. The drive wasn't too bad and I got their earlier than I thought I would. Once I parked I pulled out my phone and texted Harry

"I'm here :)"

"Alright you know what door it is ;)" damn did he just get sassy? He's probably spent too much time around Louis as usual. I walked up the stairs until I reached their flat. Man I didn't realize how many stairs there were to climb. As I get to their door I knock once, only to have the door pulled open by Niall.

"Daniella!" He shouts and pulls me in for a hug. Wow, that was unexpected. After a couple seconds my mind registered that he was hugging me I hugged back. Once we broke apart he led me into the living room where all the boys were.

"Daniella!" They all said in sync.

"Boys!" I imitated back. They all stood up and gave me hugs, Harry being the last one. I guess we're on a hugging basis now? Hey no complaints. After hugs were exchanged with Louis, Liam and Zayn, Harry flashed me that cheeky smile of his before he pulled me in for a hug.

"It's nice to see you again" he whispered in my ear.

"Its great to be here" I whispered back, smiling.

Once we let go, Liam spoke up "so how's cheer? How are these other squads? How's Derek?" Oh boy.

"Liam, can you let the poor girl sit down first before you bombard her with your questions" Louis sassed.

Everyone just laughed while Liam turned a bright shade crimson. Harry patted the spot next to him on the couch for me to sit. Once we were all settled I started answering Liam's questions.

"Well cheer is, cheer. We are starting to get into the preparation stages for Rival Night" I said.

"Ah, this infamous 'Rival Night' and how is that going?" Zayn questioned.

"It's going...well I guess" I said.

"Uh oh that doesn't sound good" Louis pointed out.

Niall jumped in "yeah what's going on?"

"Well we need a solo performance song and we haven't quite picked one yet" I admitted, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Well what are the other songs?" Harry said as he looked at me.

"Well Mr. Styles you're just gonna have to wait and see for that one" I teased.

The boys just smirked and we continued on our conversation. Before I knew it, it was 10 o'clock and I had to be home. I promised the boys I would be back soon and hugged them on my way out.

You know, one thing I wish I had more of is time. Time to plan, time to spend with these boys, time for everything. There's 24 hours in a day but yet there never seems to be enough time.

Now I'm here, at home, in my room studying for vocab so French class when I hear a *ding* come from my computer. I hop off my bed to go see what it was. An e-mail? Interesting from who exactly? "Rival Night ALERT Scheduling Change! CC ALL SQUAD CAPTAINS" wow this looks important, I should definitely open this. I clicked it and and began reading

"Dear Squad Captains,

As a result of poor schedule planning, 'Rival Night' will be pushed back one month. In two month's time from today's date will be the night of the competition. Further details on ranking's will be released in the coming of weeks. As well since you all have been given an extra month to practice, we are adding a new a component to the competition. Duets among squad captains will be the new category. Each squad captain is required to do a minimum of one duet co-ed and one duet same gender. This is going to be one tough competition, get practicing!

Please respond if you have any questions

Sincerely,

Marianne Griffin"

Of course Marianne, the head of this entire cheer society (the head judge) would throw us a curve ball like this. Duets?! Is she serious?! Who am I supposed to do a duet with?! Now I'm freaking out. How could Marianne do this to us? I sighed and grabbed my phone, not knowing what else to do.

"You'll never guess what I got" I texted Erin. I thought I would tell her about this, maybe she could help.

"What???" She responded.

"An e-mail from Marianne Griffin" I texted back.

":O saying?!?!?" She replied.

"Rival night has been pushed back a month and now they're adding 2 duets for each captain. What a joy." My sarcasm was evident there.

"Hahahah you sound pleased" she teased. I was about to respond when she called me.

"Hello" I picked up.

"So are you going to tell me more about how thrilled you are for these duets or..." She teased again. God she could be such a pain.

"Oh you're hilarious, you're killing me with how funny you are" I responded dryly.

"So who are you going to do it with?" She asked.

"That's what she said" I smirked. I feel like I'm the only one who says that anymore.

"Hardy har har har you're so funny" she responded sarcastically. "In all seriousness though, what are you going to do?" She asked.

I sighed. I really didn't know what to do. None of us captains get a long so now the judges think it's a brilliant idea to pair us up for duets? This isn't going to end well.

"I have no clue" I breathed.
