“Any hobbies?” Marcel’s mom questioned me, watching my every move as I squirmed in my seat, feeling uncomfortable.
It was just Marcel, his mother, and me at dinner because Marcel’s dad was off on a buisness trip in Atlanta.
The dinner had just started and I already wanted to hide under the table cloth.
“Well, um, I like to rollerblade sometimes…” I blurt out, mentally face palming myself when Marcel let out a snort and his mother raised an eyebrow. My frown deepened when I realized I really didn’t have any hobbies.
“Interesting…” She muttered, looking at me weirdly. My face flushed a deep shade of red before I let my hair cover my face as I looked down at my food. I could tell the dinner was not going as great as It could be.
“What about school… what classes are you going to take for your senior year?” She asked, sticking a fork full of lettuce in her mouth.
“Well, I’m signing up for photography and a creative writing class for electives.” I offered, giving her a weak smile as I took a piece of steak into my mouth.
She nods slowly before turning to Marcel, immediately smirking to herself as she turned back to me.
“What about my son makes you attracted to him?” She asked, sitting back in her chair as if she was waiting for a long reply.
I glanced over at Marcel who was giving his mother the stink eye, before snapping his head towards me and giving me a smile.
“Uh… well I like that he is very smart and cares about his school work. I also like that he is very compassionate and loving towards me and that he puts others before himself; I feel that’s a sign of loyalty and trustworthiness. I like that he isn’t cocky about his appearance even though he has every right to be,” I heard Marcel chuckle next to me but I continue, “And I love that he can sing so well, and I really think he could make it far in the music industry,” I glance over to him to see his eyes bugged out of his head, “and what I like most about your son, ma’am, is that he is the sweetest most kind hearted person I’ve ever met, and I wouldn’t be able to not like him even if I tried.”
Satisfied with my answer, I gave Marcel’s mom a full smile before reaching and connecting his hand in mine. She returns the smile before munching on another piece of lettuce.
We sit in silence for a few minutes before she asked a question that made me cough on my food.
“So, have you two had sex?”
Me and Marcel stare wide eyed at his mom, who just looks at us waiting for a response.
“I-um… we uh… we…”
“No, mother, we havent.” Marcel jumps in, giving his mother a stern look. I let out a sigh and almost let my face hit my food in embarassment.
I almost felt guilty because Marcel was lying to his mother. We had ‘had sex’ the night I took him to the club, and I kind of wish we didn’t have sex that night because the first time with a loved one should be special, not wasted when the two were well, wasted.
“Just making sure.” She offered, slightly smirking as we continued to eat in awkward silence.
~
“Thank you for coming. I know my mother can be a bit interrogating and questioning but it takes her a while to warm up to people.”
I nodded as Marcel and I stood on my front porch.
“No problem, She’s a very… straight forward woman.” I laughed along with Marcel at my comment, both us knowing that it was true.
The dinner had gone on with more awkward questions that I had barely any answer to; basically one sentence replies as she threw questions at me.
I fiddled with my fingers for a few seconds before looking up at Marcel, “Does she like me?”
He reached for my hands and laced them with his, pulling me into his chest.
“Of course she does, what’s not to like? Plus, if she didn’t, it wouldn’t matter because I like you and she can’t change that.” He leaned down and placed a lingering kiss on my lips, making my crave for his cherry chap stick stronger.
“I better get inside,” I mumble against his mouth, stealing one more kiss before planting the heels of my feet on the ground again.
“Call me tomorrow, maybe we can do something.” He suggested, letting go of my hands, walking backwards toward his car.
“I will.”
I gave him a wave and smile before watching his car disappear down the road.
Sighing, I turned the nob of the door and entering the house, although I stop short when I see both my parents standing ten feet away, along with my brother behind them wearing a smirk that was so big I was aftraid his face would get stuck like that.
The stern looks on their faces told me this was not going to be good.
“We need to talk.”

Hey loves!
im so sorry for the long wait. Honestly I haven't been in the writing mood lately as you can tell by the incredibly short and crappy chapter I just gave you.
I have been so busy with school and sports that I haven't had the time to really sit down and write.
But anyways, I hope you are satisfied with this chapter until I put up a new one! Hopefully It will be up in less than 2 1/2 weeks, if I find the time.
Love you all bunches!
