"So where are we going?" I asked.
"You tell me, both of our houses our occupied." he said.
I thought about how to get my brother out of the house, but that's something near impossible.
"We should go get lunch because its like 1:00pm and we haven't had anything to eat all day." I suggested. He drove us to a little sandwich shop a couple miles down the road from his house.
"I always come here when I need something to eat because there's barely any people that come here and crowd the place, and the food is remarkable. During school time I usually come here and work on stuff and eat." He explained as we got out of the car and headed into the cute sandwich shop.
"Marcel! Is that you? Hey buddy, You look great! Haven't seen you since the ending of school!" The older looking man across the counter says while Marcel and him have a firm handshake.
"Who's this pretty gal?" He looks at me then wiggles is eyebrows, making me giggle a bit.
"This is my gir-... I mean my friend, we've been hanging out for a few days. We decided to go out for lunch and I said I know the best place! So here we are!" He explained.
"Well that's mighty kind of ya, pal. What would you two like?" I looked up at the menu and didn't see anything that didn't seem appetizing. I didn't know what to get.
"I'll just have whatever you're having." I smiled up at Marcel, who smiled back and said, "We will split an Original Submarine, please."
"You got it! AY RALPHIE, GET THESE TWO KIDS AN ORIGINAL SUBMARINE!" he yelled to the cook in the back that yelled back,
"ALRIGHT, A SUBMARINE FOR THE LOVE BIRDS COMING UP!" I blushed and looked down at the comment, trying not to let Marcel see.
He just reached for my hand and intertwined our fingers, then led me to a two person booth in the back of the restaurant. Right as we sat down, I'm assuming Ralphie came out and placed the plate down on our table. "Now you two kids enjoy. Oh, and PDA isn't allowed in a family business." He smiled and winked at us and left, leaving me blushing hard again, and Marcel laughing.
" This is so good!" I exclaimed as I bit into the sandwich, trying to change the subject. Why was I feeling shy and nervous around Marcel? If anything, it should be the opposite.. right?
"What are you thinking about?" he asked, ripping me from my thoughts.
"What?"
"You've been staring at your sandwich for like two minutes." He said, seeming enlightened by my embarrassment.
"Oh you know... just how school is starting in a few weeks." I said quickly, trying to cover it up.
"Finally, I just want to get Senior year finished so I don't have to last any longer with those stupid kids at school." He said, taking a bite of his sandwich.
" Same. I just can't wait to get to college." I replied.
We talked about school and college a little longer before we both decided to go.
"Thanks Andy. Always a pleasure eating food from the finest, Ralphie!" he yelled towards the cook so he could hear him.
"Always a pleasure serving the finest!" He replied with a smile. With that, we walked out the door and to his Audi.
"My brother is probably gone by now, with his stupid friends from his fraternity always going places. He only has stuff at the house because he doesn't want to move it all to the frat house. Lazy bum." i said as we pulled out of the parking lot.
"So you want to head over there?" He asked.
"Well only if your up for it, we can do something else if you want."
he looked at me and said, "Well since we didn't get to finish our movie," he started, "not that we were actually watching it.." he mumbled, making me laugh, " I was thinking we go see that new movie, The Conjuring? Supposed to be pretty scary."
"Um, sure. Let's go see that.." I said, immediately regretting it. I hated scary movies and always did. Ever since my cousin make me watch the Exorcist, I've been terrified to watch any scary movie ever since.
