Addison's P.O.V.
I opened my eyes and squinted from the sunlight coming from my window. I closed both eyes again, unable to keep them open. Last night's events came flooding back to me as I sat on my bed. I still couldn't process that the man who killed my mother was my uncle.
"How in the world am I going to stop Kane?"
I sighed and tiredly got out of my bed, not wanting to think about it any longer. I headed downstairs after, I cleaned myself.
"Gran?"
I looked around and I didn't see my gran anywhere. I touched my amulet and unleashed my seals. I concentrated my energy on my gran, and before I could locate her. Someone jumped onto me.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADDY!!!!!"
"Holy biscuits, Gran I almost had a heart attack." I placed my hand over my heart and I could feel it rapidly pounding.
"Sorry, Addy. I just wanted to make it a birthday surprise." she chuckled.
"Come, come I have your birthday pancakes ready for you."
I resealed my powers into the amulet and, I sat down in my seat as my gran brought the pancakes over to my seat. I had completely forgot it was my birthday, I guess my mind was too worried about other things.
"Oh My Gosh. THANKS GRAN YOUR'RE THE BEST!" I screamed as I stared at the 20 layers of pancakes placed front me. I swear my gran makes the best pancakes in the world. I cut the pancakes and I happily devoured the tower. By the time I was finished, I could feel a little food baby sticking out from my stomach.
My gran sat down across from me and she looked at me.
"Yes???"
"Nothing, just thinking about how my granddaughter is all grown up now. I feel like 18 years passed so fast."
Her eyes glazed over and I smiled.
"Don't worry gran, even as I grow older I'll still love you."
"Yeah, I know."
After breakfast, I walked upstairs and grabbed my backpack. I placed my drawing utensils inside and I changed into a black knit sweater and my leggings. I slipped on my coat and grabbed my scarf, tightly wrapping it around my neck. I ran downstairs and I put on my combat boots.
"Gran, I'm going by the forest valley to draw some pics. I'll be back in like three hours."
"Alright Addy, be careful."
Little did I know that I shouldn't have left. I should have stayed with my gran.
I opened the door and walked over to the back of the cabin. I slowly walked, following the snowy path to my destination. As I walked, I let my eyes wander around my surroundings. Even though I was stuck in the forest for the rest of my life, I didn't mind. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The forest brought me comfort and it helped when I needed to calm down. I guess it might be since I'm half wolf, but I don't think that's the only reason.
After walking for awhile, a big oak tree that towered over the other tree's in the forest came into my vision. I walked over to the tree and draped my backpack on one of the branches. I slowly climbed the tree, until I reached my usual spot. I slowly sat down and I let out a huge sigh. I leaned against the trunk and I took out my sketchpad. I don't know when I started drawing, but I knew that since a very young age, I used my drawings to express myself. I could always remember myself drawing pictures of objects I didn't know about and showing it to my gran, so she could tell me what it was. Drawing helped me unravel and let go of my thoughts.
