Chapter 3: Promise

Addison's P.O.V.

We walked back to the cabin and I walked upstairs to wash up. I grabbed my pajama's and walked to the bathroom. I closed the door and leaned against the door frame, and slid down. I was so tired, using magic took a lot of concentration and took a toll on my mental health. I ran my hand through my hair and sighed. 

                "I need a bath," I mumbled.

I turned on the water and started to fill my bathtub with warm water. I slipped off my clothes and I dropped some herbal essence before I got in. The scent of citrus mint surrounded me and I closed my eyes. I felt my eyes slowly closing as I drifted off to sleep.

I couldn't see. Darkness surrounded me. I perked my ears to see if I could hear anything. Nothing. I frowned and I moved my hand to feel my surroundings. I hissed in pain as my wrist burned from something that constrained me. I tugged my arm one more time and I heard the rattling of metal.What the actual biscuits.

                  "Violet, are you there? Where are we?"

No response.

                 "Violet?"

Still no response.

I started to panic when all I heard was silence. Something wasn't right. Where was my gran? Where am I? I started to sweat and I frantically, tugged at the chains around my wrist. I tugged harder; I could feel the skin on my wrist splitting and the stench of blood made my nose scrunch up. Fear flooded into me, and I screamed. I tried to move my legs, but they were tied together. Tears slid down my face and I screamed again, hoping that someone could hear me. 

I heard a door slam on my right and suddenly, someone grabbed my hair and I felt chunks of hair being ripped from my scalp. I screamed from  the pain and I was roughly thrown to the floor. Something hard collided with my stomach and I coughed out blood as I felt one of my ribs break.

                  "Shut the fuck up," a man growled from above me.

Light filled my vision and I squinted as tears blurred my vision. I glared at the man in front of me and I growled back at him. He had black hair and his eyes were lifeless ,and they stared at me in amusement. He bent down so he was in front my face. His breath smelled like rotten flesh and a scar ran through from his eyes to his mouth. I gagged and his hands grabbed my face, his nails digging into my skin. I felt my cheeks bruising from his grip.

                 "You look just like your mother."

What. How did he know my mother? He smirked at me and he cackled. I swear he sounded like one of those villains in TV shows. I winced at the sound. Without warning, his palm collided with my cheek and pain erupted from the place he made contact with. I bit into my lip, drawing blood, not wanting to show him my pain. His lifeless eyes looked into my eyes and he smiled. He fucking smiled.

                 "You're just like your mother too. I would beat her day and night, and not a single scream came from those pretty lips of hers." He snarled.

                 "She looked at me with those eyes of hers and even after I ripped out her  heart, her eyes still stared straight at me, looking at me, defying me."

My heart clenched and I didn't believe what I just heard. My gran had told me my mother was killed by rogue, not fucking tortured. I felt a growl from come from my mouth. I glared at the man in front of me. I wanted to kill him, end his life, and watch the blood drain out his body. He killed my fucking mother. I was going to end his miserable existence and wipe him off this planet. I could feel my canines extending out of my mouth and claws coming out from my knuckles. I tugged at the chains, not caring about the pain. I tugged at the chains even harder trying to break my hands free, so I could hurt him like her hurt my mother.
