We returned our boat and halfheartedly made our way to the wealthiest pub in London, a small joint called Ogygia. As we meandered to the bar, a glum looking barmaid chatted to some friendly patrons about how her boss wouldn't allow her any more vacation days. After three minutes of waiting for their conversation to cease, Percy cleared his throat. The barmaid quickly ran to our seats, looking slightly distraught over leaving two paying customers unattended. "Hello, welcome to Ogygia," the barmaid started out, "my name is Calypso, can I get you two any drinks?"
"Yes, I'll take whatever has the most alcohol in it." If I was stuck in London after a fruitless search for two ruffians, I was going to be drunk as hell and do things that I couldn't regret because I didn't remember them.
"Alright," Calypso continued, "and what about you, lad?"
" Yes, I'll have a..." Percy trailed off, staring into the distorted reflection of a girl in one of the bottles behind Calypso. "On second thought, cancel our order, we're heading out." He started to get up from his seat, urging me to do the same.
"Alright, have a nice night, stay safe." Calypso frowned at losing two customers, but quickly went back to chatting with her other patrons.
After I stood up, I glared at Percy. "What the hell was that all about? All that I wanted was a hearty drink, but then you went and—"
"I saw her." Percy looked at me with desperation in his eyes. "Annabeth. She was in the bar, she probably saw me with you, assumed that we were together, and left. We need to follow her."
"Well what are we blabbering on about, then? Let's go after her!"We exited the pub and found a woman with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes staring at us. She quickly turned around and started running towards the docks after we started towards her. Percy and I nodded and pursued her, matching her speed until a rush of drunken imbeciles exited a pub as we were passing. We watched her untie a rowboat and start to paddle towards a brown dot in the horizon. After escaping the herd of drunkards, we rushed to the docks and begged Charon for another boat.
"Well, I don' have another boat for you, tha' blondie stole my las' one." Charon smiled, "but she stole my boat, it's only fair for you to steal her's! It's the fancy one in the back o' the pier."
"Thank you, Mr. Charon," Percy exclaimed. Had he not looked so old and frail, I wouldn't doubt that Percy would've hugged Charon.
"Now, don' thank me, thank blondie for leavin' her boat!"A/N: Midterms are finally over! Now I need not worry about failing my classes! Except for phys-ed. I'm no good at sports (except for soccer, I can work with soccer). Anyways, thank you for reading this chapter, I hope that you stick around for the next! ~ Nicole
