Three weeks, it has been three weeks since Malory's eighteenth birthday. Casinara thought as she packed her things for the long trip ahead of her. Slowly she put her Marleganin necklace into her saddle bag. She hoped Malory's father had told her the truth about her disappearance not that she was dead or something.

She put her bag on her shoulder and headed out to the stable yard. Just before she stepped outside she grabbed the sword that was propped up against the door frame. She had been debating on whether or not to bring it with her. She was going to give it to Kyle when she met up with them. Just because he wasn't her son didn't mean she couldn't give him things. Pushing the door open she walked out into the sun.

Grabbing her horse out of its stall she strapped on her saddle making sure it was tight. She fastened her saddle bag on and got on her horse. Heading out of the stables she headed towards Larain's house. She had to hope that Malory was already there.

****Later that evening****

Malory sat up quickly as she heard a knock at the unfamiliar door. Furiously looking around she started to freak out. Just before she was about to contemplate climbing out of the window she remembered all that happened. Stepping off of the bed she went to the door were the knocking got more furious the longer she took to get to the door.

"What?" She said to Kyle who had a shocked look on his face.

"Um... well some one you haven't seen since you were ten years old is here." Kyle said obviously awkward about saying it.

"Who?" Malory said stepping back in the room to put the letter away that was laying on the bed.

"Well it's kind of hard to explain. Just come out and see for yourself." Kyle said opening the door fully.

"Ok." Malory said slowly making her way out of the room.

She exited the room and wandered slowly down the narrow hallway. Entering the living room area she almost had a heart attack. Sitting in one of the wooden chairs was a woman who looked literally like a older version of her.

"Hello Malory." The women said looking at her as if she was her mother.

"Why is it everyone knows me when I don't know them." She said sitting in a chair before she fell into it.

"Yes well I shouldn't expect you to remember me should I?" The woman said looking at her regretfully.

"Should I?" Malory said putting her head in her hands. She had no idea how long she had slept but she was still tired.

"Well no... But also yes. I should have stayed so you could know me, but I had other obligations. I'm sorry." She said still looking at her like she were a mother looking at her child.

"So who are you?" Malory said looking at the woman through her fingers.

"Well that's kind of hard to explain. You see i'm... well i'm..." She couldn't seem to get the last part out.

"You are?" Malory said trying to help her finish her sentence.

"I'm sure she's tired from her journey, Let's have her answer questions later ok?" Larain said suddenly helping the still mistery woman to her feet.

"Yes I must get some rest. Thank you Larain." She said gladly accepting the help and was escorted off to another room.

****In Casinara's room****

"Ok so why can't you tell her?" Larain said closing the door of the small room that belonged to Malory's mother.

"Why do you think? She's my daughter and I couldn't even stay and raise her. It's like telling myself I hadn't abandoned her. I could tell the boys so easily because they aren't girls. Telling it to Malory means admitting it to myself that I left." Casinara said collapsing into the desk chair behind her.
