Broken will

Chapter 8

Nothing had really happened since they got in the room besides the both of them asking each other questions and expressing their love for one another in sweet tender kisses on the head checks and an occasional peck on the lips.

They had talked about the last few years and what they had been doing this whole time. Also about when they had first met. When they shared their first kiss. A lot of other things crossed the conversation but it mainly stayed on that general path.

Casinara was just about to tell him about how the kids being there was the only reason she stayed with Hanar so long when Manrdrine came crashing into the room.

"Larain tried to kill Malory. There is no time for questions you both need to get up into Malory's room now!" That was all he said and then he disappeared into the hall again.

It only took a second for it to sink into the both of them and then they were out the door just as fast as Manrdrine.

Sprinting up the stairs Manrdrine was already at the top of the staircase and headed up the next. He was already in the room crouched in front of Larain when they got in there to see the chaos that had gone on in there. Larain's dagger on the floor by the door, Larain tied to the chair, the curtains lying carelessly on the floor, and a rag tossed just as carelessly on to the table.

"Good you stayed just where I left you." Manrdrine said as Larain looked at the two coming into the room with a desolate look in her eyes.

"Manrdrine get back, now." Casinara said stepping into the room and looking deeply into Larain's eyes. Well what everyone thought were Larain's eyes. Those eyes were empty. She, or it was a sole less. "Step back now. If you touch her she will kill you."

Manrdrine stepped back but not until after he giving her a questioning look and a glance at Sarantles. "What do you mean she will kill me? She's tied up, she can't go anywhere." He said as he sat down on the far end of the bed away from Larain.

"She's a sole less Manrdrine, which means if you come in any form of contact with her, it, you will die. Did you touch her at all when you tied her up?" She explained all of this and asked her question all at the same time as she came over to brush the hair out of Malory's face. "She is fine, she did not come any direct contact with 'it'. Her clothes are the only reason she is alive. She will be waking momentarily. You might want to consider getting Kyle up now too. Sence he chose to go to sleep and he has apparently slept through this entire thing."

"No I don't think so. I'll get him you guys stay here." Manrdrine said making his way to the door. "I'll fill him in on the way back." He practically sprinted down the hall and nearly ran into the door before he fumbled for the handle. When he opened the door he ran flat into Kyle who had apparently woken up and was coming out of his room. The two of them tumbled to the floor in a giant heap.

"Wateago dip stick now we're both on the floor. Not only did you fall but you had to bring me down with you." Kyle said struggling to get out from underneath him. "Would you get up and stop just laying on me." With that Manrdrine scrambled to his feet and dusted off his pants.

"You have to come with me. Right now it's Malory, she's not hurt but something that looked like Laraine tried to kill her. Mom called it a soleless or something." Kyle had started almost sprinting when he mentioned Malory but slowed when he said she wasn't hurt but was still speed walking.

"What happened?" Kyle said as he walked up the first flight of stairs.

Manrdrine explained how the man got into her room and how he sensed it. How Larain, or what he thought was Larain, had put him to sleep and Malory showed him she needed help and how he found out it was that thing that sent the creatcher after them. He tried to explain every thing exactly but he was sure he left some details out. Either way the stories seemed enough for Kyle because by the time they reached the second flight of stairs he was running.
