General POV

That night,Winter Rose could not sleep. She tossed and turned in her bed,whilst trying not to wake Percy up. She sighed. It was useless.

Sliding on her orange T-shirt and some shorts, she looked at her wristwatch. 3AM.

She walked around camp,wondering what to do. Somehow,she ended up in the forest. She sat down,leaning against a tree. Winter looked up and sighed.

Back home,at least she could see some stars. Here in New York,there was nothing in the sky except smoke and pollution. Winter heard a twig snap somewhere behind her. She took the cap off her ballpoint pen.

It transformed into a two-meter sword. The word Cold-water was carved in Ancient Greek. "Who's there?" Winter asked,not in the least afraid. The leaves tussled and a human shape appeared. In the dim light of the full moon,she could make out a dark haired boy.

He looks human,Winter thought. "Who are you?" The boy asked. "Winter. Are you a demigod,then?" The boy scoffed. "Obviously. I'm Nico. What are you doing here?" The girl smirked. "I could ask you the same thing." "I couldn't sleep."

Winter smiled at him. He seemed like a great kid. "Me neither."

They just stared at each other for a few seconds,before busting into fits of laughter. "Son of Hades," Nico said suddenly. "What?" She asked. "I'm a son of Hades. Don't worry. Not many want to be friends with me." That made Winter laugh. "Why? Because your father's the lord of the Underworld? I think he's cool."

Nico looked astounded. "You do?" "Yeah."

They kept talking until the sun rose. Winter looked at her watch. "It's been that long?!! Listen,I have to go,see you later?" Nico smiled. "Sure."

Winter quickly hopped into the shower before Percy could wake up. First day of activities at camp,and she had made a friend. Someone who actually wanted to be her friend. Winter walked out of the bathroom wearing the clothes she wore just now.

Now,she thought. Time to wake up my half-brother.
