The whole of the Hephaestus Cabin was once given the honor of building an Argo II. Though this year, due to nine demigods traveling to Greece, they had the honor to build an Argo III. They woke put he next day, earlier than they ever had,and started building the bow.By the time Winter,Percy, and the rest of her friends arrived, the body of the ship was a quarter way done. "Hello, dear friends. Care to join us?" Leo appeared from behind the ship. "Sure," Winter shrugged she grabbed the nearest hammer,a few nails in her mouth and climbed the body of the ship. She backflipped onto the deck of the ship, and grabbed a piece of wood. She placed it at the side and hammered it in with a few nails.
The others merely stared at the girl. They had found a lot of interesting talents in the white haired girl, like archery and ice sculpting, but this. That's what you call unexpected.
Leo soon joined his siblings on the deck and started tinkering with the gears. Miranda, one of his sisters, helped him with the wiring. This job was not going to be easy.
The next few days,Winter's schedule was pretty much the same. She'd wake up early, have breakfast with Percy, help the Hephaestus kids with the Argo III for the rest of the morning. Then,in the afternoon, she'd train in sword fighting with her other friends, then go have archery with Will. She'd have dinner,go to the campfire and go to sleep. Not much happened, except that one time no one was looking,Miranda 'accidentally' tripped her and Leo was more than happy to catch her. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of Winter's life. She was absolutely humiliated. Thankfully,no one was around to witness the scene. That didn't mean Miranda wouldn't stop bugging her about Leo. Winter seriously thought that girl would drive her insane.
Winter wiped the sweat off her forehead and looked at the magnificent ship in front of her. She had spent that whole day,at the Argo III,helping the others add the finishing touches. She ended up having to do the maintenance wiring with Leo. There, they laughed and joked whilst working.
Turns out,Leo wasn't really a bad guy. He was funny, creative, and definitely had a way with tools. Winter,on the other hand,Leo thought, was a complete mystery. She was kind hearted and funny, though any time their conversation were near their parents, she would turn back to the pile of wires and say "We should continue finishing this."
It almost driver the Latino boy crazy. And the quest hadn't even started yet! He'd have a hard time proving his love for the fiery white haired.
"It's beautiful!" Hazel exclaimed. The magnificent had been presented to the camp, and had received many 'oohs' and 'aahs'. The ship had a glossy shine of paint, and giant masts, that looked majestic in the setting sun. "Wonderful. You have really outdone yourselves," Chiron said great fully to the tired teenagers.
He turned to Winter and her friends. "I am afraid, this means you will leave in the morning. I will see you off." They all nodded, and turned around to pack their stuff. Nico went up to his best friend. "Hey," he said. "I haven't seen you in a while."
That made Winter feel guilty. "I know,Nikki. And I'm really sorry for that. I'll make it up to you,I'll–" "Woah,Win! It's okay. But you look terrible. You should get some rest. Literally. You look like death." Winter snorted. So,she had bags under her eyes, that didn't make her death. "Yeah, yeah. See you tomorrow morning. Night."
"Night,Win."
