Elliot's POV

"So, Lizzie, I talked to Liv today," I spoke as we sat down for dinner.

"Really?" Lizzie said with a large smile.

"Yeah, and she said she can help you with the project," I replied and she squealed with delight.

"What project?" Kathy asked as she shifted in her seat.

"It's a project about different jobs for women, and I wanted to do it on Liv!" Lizzie said quickly, and Kathy frowned and pushed some of her food around her plate. I didn't ask about it right now, but I would later.

I walked into our bedroom after checking on the kids, and Kathy was reading, but I could tell she wasn't really reading. I stripped my clothes off and climbed into bed in just my boxers, and yawned.

"Kath, why don't you get some sleep," I spoke, as I pulled the blankets up around me.

"I'm not tired." She replied, and I sighed.

"Kathy, are you upset about Lizzie wanting Liv to help with the project?" I asked.

"No." She lied.

"Kathy." I breathed, and she looked at me and frowned.

"She has always like Liv more than me. She would call Liv in the middle of the night before asking me for help." Kathy sighed, and I looked at her and I knew that I couldn't tell her that I was in love with Liv, so I had to comfort her.

"Kath, she likes you, it's just you are pregnant, and there are three other kids that need your attention, so she likes that Liv will give her some attention that isn't divided between so many other things," I spoke and she nodded slowly.

"Should I try and spend some time with just her?" Kathy asked.

"Babe, it's up to you. Maybe you can hang out with Liv and Lizzie and see what Liv does to make Lizzie feel like she's the only one there." I replied and she nodded slowly. I grabbed her book and sat it to the side, before pulling her into my arms.

We cuddled for a while before she fell asleep, and I started to think about Liv. Hopefully, I would be laying in a bed with her soon, and we would be married or even just dating, but it would be perfect.

Olivia's POV

I quickly cleaned up my apartment and made sure that I had food for Lizzie. It was weird that she was coming over, but I really wanted to help her with the project, and to show her how much I care about her since I'm going to be officially with her father soon.

There was a knock on the front door, and I smiled and headed to answer it, but instead of only seeing Lizzie, I was face to face with Kathy.

"Hi, Liv!" Lizzie squealed and she hugged me and I rubbed her back and smiled.

"Hey, Lizzie. Hi Kathy." I spoke and once Lizzie let go of me and I stepped back to let them in.

"Olivia, I was wondering if I could stay?" Kathy asked and I swallowed hard.

"Um, sure." I swallowed hard.

I got them settled in before heading into my bedroom and calling Elliot.

"Elliot why the hell is Kathy at my place?" I breathed angrily.

"Oh, um, she wanted to see why Lizzie likes you so much," Elliot replied.

"No, she can't stay! She's going to sense that something's off!" I replied quickly, and he sighed.

"Baby, she won't sense anything. She is happy that we are talking again since I'm happy. Just stay calm. I love you." He spoke, and my anger melted away with those three little words.

"I love you too, but you owe me," I replied, then hung up to his laughing. I walked out and was ready to face her.

"So, Liv, why did you become a Detective?" Lizzie asked as she held a notepad in her hands.

"Um, because of all the injustices that have happened and went unnoticed. And because what happened to my mother." I replied, and she nodded slowly, and I could tell she was trying to test the waters before asking me a question.

"Lizzie, my mother was really hurt. And I knew that I wanted to stop what happened to my mother, from happening to others." I replied and she wrote down what I said and then smiled.

"May I use your bathroom?" She asked and I nodded.

"Lizzie it's in my room," I replied and she nodded and skipped out. I looked down at my hands, then Kathy spoke.

"Liv, how do you do it?" She asked.

"Do what?" I replied, my voice showing how surprised and confused I was by the question.

"Get Lizzie to like you so much." She replied.

"Kathy, she doesn't like me because I do something. I don't know why she does." I replied, and she shrugged.

"You give her more attention then I can." She frowned, and I stood up and ran my hand through my hair.

"I don't know, Kathy. I'm just someone who isn't her parents. Someone who she can talk to, and who she doesn't feel like she is going to get in trouble with." I replied, and she looked at me.

"You know that when you're a mother, you are going to be amazing." She spoke and I blushed.

"Thanks, Kathy, but I don't see that happening anytime in the future. Um, I'm going to go and get something to drink. Do you need anything?" I asked and she shook her head.

"She said I was going to be an amazing mother." I sighed as I laid next to Elliot, my head on his chest, and his hand was rubbing my bare back.

"You will be, but with 5 stepchildren." Elliot laughed, and I rolled my eyes and sat up.

"Elliot, are we not going to have kids?" I asked, and he shrugged.

"I don't know, love. I already have 5..." He trailed off when he saw my expression.

"Elliot, maybe you should go home," I spoke, as I got up and went into my bathroom. We had met at my place tonight.

"Liv." He frowned as he followed me in. I turned around and looked at him.

"Elliot, I love you. I really do, and I trust you with my life. But I want a family. I want to have children, but I just never thought that it would happen, and now I have a chance. To have a baby with you would be amazing, but now you don't want anymore." I frowned, and he wrapped his arms around me and held me close.

"We can do anything you want." He breathed before he kissed my forehead.
