"Who was he?" Alec questioned as he took a seat on my office couch after he dropped me off at the office. Justin had to rush to a meeting.
"Justin Long. From the Long group of companies. I'm surprised you don't remember after the discussion you guys had."
"No." He said as he stood up and headed towards me, trapping me between his body and my desk. He tilted his head as he asked. "Who's he to you?"
I swallowed audibly. He's hand moved up to my cheek caressing it.
"He's uuh..... He's... " I said distractedly. "An old friend, I... I mean high school boyfriend. Ex boyfriend."
He hummed. His gaze not leaving my face as his hand tucked a stray lock of my hair behind my ear.
"I think you should stay away from him." he all but demanded which caused me to snap out of my little trance.
"Who made you king of anything?"
"I don't like him. There's something off with the guy."
"You seemed to like talking to him." I pointed out.
"The key word baby is 'seemed'."
"Well I'll do I as please thank you very much. Now if you'll excuse me I've got work to do." I said as I sat behind my desk.
He walked over to me kissed my cheek and at my unresponsiveness he sighed and left.

"I can't believe the nerve he has to think he can tell me what to do!" I ranted.
"I think he's only concerned." Gwen put in.
We were in my apartment enjoying a glass of wine, Gwen stretched out on the couch while I paced in front of the fireplace.
"I mean he just meet the guy and he thinks he has a right to pass judgement!"
"I think you hold Justin on too high a pedestal." Gwen went on, not quite listening to her.
"I've know Justin all my life. I know his family, his friends, I mean I've dated the guy!"
"Why did you guys break up?"
"What?" I asked finally turning to her, out of breathe.
"Why did you guys break up?" She asked again as she patted the space next to her on the couch.
"Mmh..." I began as I fell back onto the couch. "We drifted apart, I guess"
"Is that what happened or what he told you happened?"
"What are you trying to insinuate?" I asked giving her a look.
"Nothing. It's just that you once told me he used to hang out with your sister a lot while you were busy."
"Yeah so?"
"Don't you find it a little too coincidental that even now, where one is the other is too. That when Justin is around so is your sister?"
"I'm sure Riley simply tags along to annoy me."
"I beg to differ. From all you've ever told me about your sister, she's not the type to simply tag along."

I couldn't get what Gwen said out of my head. Just this morning when Justin and his dad came in, I saw Riley wave at me before swiveling on her feet and leaving.
